Ok now that we know that Mr Potter is on his way to Universal:cheer2:. How soon do you think they will start working on this project and what impact will it have on future visits. My next trip is scheduled for the last week of June and I suspect that nothing will get started that quick, but who knows. I probably will hold off on a future trip until the project is completed so I really don't think it is a problem for me but I just wonder about people making plans for the future.PLEASE don't take this as a Potter bashing because I am thrilled with the news I just wondered with a project of this magnitude how it will affect the park while it is put in place.:thumbsup2

I doubt anything will happen to impact visitors for a while yet. Most of the area they will need to work on first are areas that visitors don't go anyway. Just relax and think about what's coming in 2009/2010! :thumbsup2

My understanding is that work will commence Sept/Oct this year on the new development area to the rear of the park where the major new attraction will be situated in a newly constructed area (Strongarm). The development of the area between Flying Unicorn and Jurassic Park into Forbidden Forrest will also commence late this year/start of next year. I assume the thinking behind this is minimal peak season disruption. This includes rethemeing of Flying Unicorn which will close during this period and the development of a new restaurant facility and shops/attractions within this area.

The redevelopment of Sinbad into a new Potter themed attraction will begin early summer 2008 (Apr/May?). I have been unable to find further details of this however on various sites I have found rumors of an “Interactive Adventure Show”.

The main redevelopment of Dueling Dragons to Hogwart’s Castle and the main Lost Continent plaza to Hogmeade’s Village will run through Sept/Oct 08 to Mar/May 09, again I assume to minimize disruption in that area.

This is a quote from the HP thread. While I don't know this person's sources, I also think it seems a very logical schedule if they are going to open it so soon.

I have also read somewhere in a release, that said DD would be open for during the overall rehab.

Hi - just officially announced in the UK

Potterland, a wizard new place in Florida announced today 1st June in Daily Mail (UK). The article states that author J K Rowling has given the go-ahead for the multi-million pound creation of 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter'. Universal experts to start work on the project on a sprawling 20-acre site at the Universal Orlando Resort this summer and be ready for opening to the public in late 2009. It is a joint venture between Universal and Warner Bros Entertainment. The author said, 'the plans I have seen look incredibly exciting and I don't think fans of the books or films will be disappointed'.

I dont' think that Sinbad is even going to change, so I think that post is all speculative.

Heh, I'll guarantee it's speculative.

But as I said, it's a logical schedule that they could implement.
