Hey, firstly, thanks so much to all the information and tips you guys come up with on here! You are all SO helpful! :thumbsup2 ... Might seem a bit of a silly question but.... if i'm planning a wedding for September/October 2011, how soon do i contact Disney? Also, we're planning our next holiday to Orlando for this September/October and would love to arrange a visit to the Wedding Studio (we're from the UK). We are planning a Wishes Wedding so will this be possible? How soon would we need to get in contact with them? Thanks again!! xxx

Wishes you can actual set contract 12 months out.
Escape you can set contract 8 months out, to the day.

You can get "pencilled in" 12 months out for Escapes.

If you are pencilled in for a location & time and someone else wants that also you will go into a lottery. So be prepared to be flexible on dates, locations & times, especially if it is a busy time of year.

We're planning a 10-10-10 wedding and are in a lottery. Therefore we have several back up plans to pass onto our planner if we don't when our lottery location.

Hope this helps. There should be alot of other responses coming, I am sure!
Congrats!!:goodvibes

i wasn't sure if we would fall in escape or wishes territory. i made a phone call and put my name on the website email in december and we are planning for a january 2011 wedding. i heard back from someone early january. i will say this - some infor says they book 12 months out for wishes, but deposits etc... aren't in for a bit after that, so we are "pencilled" in (and it is just under a year till our date) but i haven't made a deposit (though i have asked) and i don't have a contract or even a proposal although it is in the works. i imagine depending on the date you are looking at, it may be that deposits etc are taken on the year date, but maybe not. but i also had the TA who booked our (now honeymoon) cruise following the wedding put in a call too.

good luck!

Hey!

I called in the middle of January for a Disney Wishes Wedding on August 24 2011 and received a wedding coordinator within a couple of days so I am sure you could call without a problem either this month or next :cool1:

Whether you can book a Wishes event at 12 months depends on the venues you want. If it's a theme park ceremony and a reception in a theme park, Ariel's or Atlantic Dance Hall, you can sign a contract 12 months out. The other venues require you to wait til 8 months out to sign the contract. :thumbsup2

Thanks all for the responses. As i'm visiting in September do you think i will be able to have a site visit? It's just coz of us travelling from the U.K that we would want to do this then. It's a Wishes wedding we want (i understand that you don't get site visits with escape weddings?) Thanks again! x
