How Soon is too soon for PTR?

I promised my DH i wouldn't plan this trip but i am a planner its what i do!!
Kids dont know so i am ready to burst with the excitement, a freind of mine recently got back and says she has a map and some other stuff for me. We dont go till end sept how soon is ok to start a pre trip report??

I dont think its ever too early to start planning if it is something you enjoy! But if you start a PTR too soon it might lack a bit! I have a note book where I jot down things that interest me on here places to eat, rides/shows we must see, I keep things like you mentioned maps parade times etc in there as well!

I don't think there's any such thing as 'too early'

I never seem to get around to writing one myself, partly because I'm a bit superstitious and worry I'll tempt fate and partly because I'm not very *ahem* speedy at writing reports but some people start theirs as soon as they book/plan their holiday.

Do whatever feels right for you.

I've started mine, it's more of a planning journal though and the kids can't see it on here lol!

I normally start my PTR anything from a month to two weeks before hand. Like the OPs I have my trusty journals. My stitch one for all DLP trips planned and a lovely old vintage one with an engraving of the Eiffel Tower specifically for our honeymoon.
I jot down things I want to do / see and where we plan to eat as well as a loose itinery and a plan for shows.
Am now feeling like a loon
