How soon could I book after purchase?

I’m interested in a resale AKL December UY and I’m planning a September 2021 trip. If I were to purchase the contract today, am I able to book that vacation this October?

Resale? If you bid today, there's 30 days for ROFR, then you have estoppel and closing. It's safest to assume 120 days for the process, then about another 2-3 weeks to get into Disney's system.

That said, you ought to be in system by October so long as you don't get ROFR to oblivion.

Sure. A resale offer made today would probably be finalized and the account set up in 2 or 3 months tops. Plenty of time ahead of that booking.

Yes, if you put it under contract, expect about 2 - 3 months. My last nine transactions for both buying and selling has been taking 8-10 weeks from contract to points being loaded in the system.

You absolutely would have enough time. We just did our first resale purchase and it took a total of just over six weeks from initial offer to points being in our account. That would put you into mid-late April until you have the points. You would not even be able to book until October.

ROFR is slow right now though.

Plan on 1 week for initial offer, 3-4 weeks for ROFR, 1 week to show up at county, 2 weeks to get member number and points loaded.

Holidays can delay it and this can always go a touch slower or faster.
