How soon after Turkey Day do the parks get quiet?

I'm wondering how soon to book a holiday after Thanksgiving. My US family wanted to go for Christmas, so against my better judgement I booked us in. Now they can't all go so they decided to wait a year. But I have since then gotten psyched to see the decorations. So we decided to go as soon after Thanksgiving as it made sense, and then just visit them for a week at Christmas in Maine. Yikes, two trans atlantic trips back to back. :scared:

I'll bump this for you, I would like to know, too! I am tentatively planning flying in either the Sun or Mon after Thanksgiving.

we have been the past two years for Thanksgiving weekend...once flew in on friday am this year thanksgiving am...big mistake...thanksgiving is a nightmare in the magic kingdom. I would say sunday the crowd starts to thin and by monday it is very nice. the decorations are all up on thanksgiving.
it is a beautiful week to be there. have a magical time.

After the weekend. We usually leave the Friday after Thanksgiving, take our time driving there (if we drive) and arrive on Sunday. By Monday, the parks are ready to go for "slow season" and we have a blast, waiting max. 30 minutes for big attractions like ToT and SM. This is my favorite time of year to go because it still gets warm and you can swim! :thumbsup2
