How soon after Christmas do you take your tree down?

I was surprised one day a few years ago when I saw my neighbor's tree at the end of her driveway with the trash the day after Christmas!

My family always left our tree up until at least January 1st.

My DH's family did the same, so we take our tree down usually on January 1st, sometimes the 2nd or 3rd depending on our schedule.

How about you?

Usually the weekend following New Year's.

ARE YOU MY NEIGHBOR????

December 25th, 8pm at the LATEST!!!!!

I take off the ornaments, and the tree and lights go out to the curb together...

My living room is so begging for space by the 25th...

Last night I said to DH....geez we'd have a lot more room for christmas morning if we just took that tree down...he laughed, and said next year he's getting me a table top one..

My family, and DH's family all keep theirs up till Jan 1st...they think I'm crazy....well, okay I am a bit.

After the New Year or when I can't stand it any more-which ever comes first! ;) :)

1/6......Twelfth Night....Epiphany.....Little Christmas!

I'd rather put it up late and keep it up til then!

One Christmas morning I had to go out for something - can't remember what - and at 10 a.m. someone had their tree out at the curb!! Whoa!

Ours is usually up until at least January 6th..

December 24th (just kidding)
Usually just after January 1st

the night of the 25th, and I am just so happy its over with

Never before the Christmas season is over... so at least through January 6th.

mine is already down:teeth: hehehe...really i usually take it down the weekend after christmas..dh always tells me to keep it up til after new years...we'll see what happens this year.....

We take ours down Christmas Night as well. We put it up on Thanksgiving Day so by Christmas night I'm ready to see it go. :teeth: I don't know why but it's also a little depressing to me to see it after Christmas is over. This year we may wait until the morning of the 26th since we're off work but that would be the latest.

Count me in for the day after Christmas. We usually go away for a few days while the kids have no school and don't want to leave it up at home alone.

Since I now have an artificial tree I leave it up a little longer. I like to leave it up till Jan 1 but when I had a real tree I often couldn't wait that long as it got so dried out. I am leaving town on Jan 3 for 11 days so if it doesn't get taken down by the 3rd it will be at least mid Jan.

When I was growing up we lived in a very small house. We had to move the TV out of the living room to my parents bedroom to put the tree up. One year maybe 30 years ago the University of Arkansas was playing in a bowl game on Christmas Day. As soon as we were finished eating (we ate at noon) the whole family (this being about 40 aunts, uncles, and cousins) helped take down the tree so we could move the TV back in to watch the bowl game.

That was a one time occurence but to this day, people still talk about how my late mother always took the tree down on Christmas day.

Usually the day after. That way I have room for the toys in my living room. LOL
