how should I get to Downtown Disney

We will be in WDW next week. I have heard about the issues with parking in Downtown Disney. So, how should we get to Downtown Disney? Take a bus from the resort OR fork out the $15 for Valet Parking in Downtown Disney. Any other ideas?

Just ride the bus. If you got an ADR out there, allow about an hour to get there just in case you have to wait a few for a bus.

This unless you have an ADR and are using TIW in which case Valet parking is free except for tip. That $15.00 can be better spent on like 4 mickey bars.

We have never NOT found a parking space in DTD. Sometimes you have to hunt for a while or park far away, but it beats the bus!

Is that before or after the current major construction project started? During busy times now, folks are being asked to park at areas away from DTD and ride a shuttle in.

Unless we make the DTD stop on the way home, we always take the bus.

Oh...forgot about the new construction. I just remember sitting for an hour one time waiting for the bus to pick me up and take me back to the resort. Vowed never again!!

Can it be paid with the magic band? Charged to the room? or if you are already paying for valet parking at your hotel does that cover this charge?

If you want to drive, instead of taking the bus, just see if you can find parking first before doing valet. I would just take the bus. We've taken a cab back when we've done the cirque show or a late dinner, but always take the bus there.

1. I don't know, I would guess yes
2. no it doesn't - I know I read that specifically, maybe on the transportation board
