My DH, DS, and I will be staying at CSR Dec. 11-17 w/ free dining. My mom has decided to come down for a couple days and will be staying from Dec. 11-13. I have to add her on the reservation still., but have some questions...
I know that an extra adult is $15 per night. Does she also have to get the DDP for the days that she is there? What about park tickets? We will have hoppers, but she wants to purchase her tickets when she gets there and not get the hopper because she will not need them. I also want her to be able to ride on the magical express.

What is the best way to make this situation work? Merry Christmas DISers!

If she wants the dining plan, she has to be added for the entire length of stay and get the same tickets that your family gets. Otherwise, she will dine out of pocket.

You'll need to add her before she arrives to get her Magical Express.

To use Magical Express, she needs to be on a room reservation. You can only use Magical Express if you are a resort guest and that is how Disney will verify it. So, for ME, you would need to add her ahead of time.

The problem with that is that everyone on the reservation has to have the same package. So, to add her ahead of time to your room, she would have to get the same number of tickets and the dining plan for the full length of YOUR stay. Not her stay... YOUR stay (since that is what the reservation is for). You will also have to pay the extra adult charge the whole time.

I would downgrade the tickets to the minimum required (2 day MYW for free dining). When you get there, upgrade all the tickets to what people need. As for the dining credits, any other adult on the reservation can use them even after she leaves.

You can add her to the room reservation after you arrive. By doing this you don't have to add her on to the package with everyone else and then you can pay out of pocket for her dining and tickets. If you add her in advance of your arrival then she will have to have the same package as the rest of you.

Note that this means that she can't get the dining plan though, she will have to pay for dining at the restaurants. As long as you add her to your reservation after you arrive, but a day or so before she arrives, you can get her set up to use Magical Express, though. Tickets obviously can just be purchased at the parks, at the resort, or in advance through a reseller.

Or you can have her take and pay for the MEARS shuttle from the airport. She might even be put on the DME buses as they are operated by MEARS. But she will not be able to take DME with you unless she is added on to your reservations prior to arrival which means buying the same package for her as you do for everyone else.
