how should I do this

I want to go to Universal Studios for opening (9am), Friday July 15th, from Marina del Rey. I have a car. what is the easiest and/or fastest way to get there? if it means leaving Marina del Rey at 7am, I can do that.... or public transportation?
what do the experts here suggest?

Drive - don't rely on public transportation in LA - especially near rush hour.
Just google the path. Shouldn't be too bad. MDR is a very ice area btw.

Take Hwy 90 east
Take Hwy 405 north - to "Sacramento"
Take Hwy 101 south - to Los Angeles"
Exit 12A to Lankershim Blvd/Universal City

It's about 25 miles and should take about an hour at that time of day.
