How scary is MNSSHP on your own?

Very scary. They have all these people handing you candy. And a great parade and fireworks show. And a lot of candy. Very spooky indeed. Did I mention how much candy they try to give you.

I'm going Solo on Sept. 29th so I'll let you know...I'm really looking forward to it...been working on my halloween costume...even making a booty bag since I'm a lady pirate...the cady will come back with me to the grandbaby.....have a blast I sure plan to!!!! I'm planning on going through the haunted mansion bunches of times as well as POC....hope I can get a CM to take my pic in my silly get up!!! Cheers! DJ

I went to MNSSHP for the first time last year and I went solo, in costume! Have to say that I had a blast! Couple pics from the parade....

You can see through their legs.... talk about spooooky!

Was a bit tired but after a spin on the TTA and a little sugar, I was fine. Didn't someone mention something about candy??? Check out this candy!

Oh, do go! I went twice last Oct solo I did meet up with a couple "dissers" on the 1st night but went completely solo on the 2nd. Both nights were so much fun. The parade and fireworks alone are worth it. I had so much fun "trick or treating" for candy...it's been years and another highlight was meeting the villains.
This year I'm going solo for one night and going the 2nd with my dd and her df

Thanks for all your positive reports--and please keep them coming! I'll be sure and write a full report of the trip when I go--I'm also doing Party for the Senses solo the following Saturday.

I'm really looking forward to both parties--I haven't gone trick or treating in about twenty-plus years! I'm not sure about a costume this year, but if I can think of something simple, maybe. If no costume, I figured I could buy some type of ears to wear.

I did MNSSHP on Sept 15th solo and had an absolute ball. (I was traveling with a friend who had to fly home on the 14th.) I got to watch the parade twice from different locations, change plans on the spot when the Villain Meet and Greet popped up a bit early and had some characters I'd never met before, and wandered around at my own pace. I was nervous about going alone, but I'd definitely recommend going alone over not going! It did rain a bit, but the CMs and characters were having fun hamming it up. I skipped the lines for candy and pictures (except for some characters I *had* to get pix of) and the ride lines ranged from walk-on all the way up to a whopping 10 minute wait, so I had the luxury of truly being able to do what I wanted when I wanted. While I'd love to take DD to the party, I have to admit that going alone was a whole lotta fun, too.

I will be down there from Sept 28th to Oct 2nd alone. I am still debating going to the party. Glad to hear some others have gone or plan on going alone.

Do you plan on dressing up? Normally I would want to but its going to be HOT and I dont think I will have enough room in the suitcase for anything.

If you check the trip report in my signature, you'll see reports of three different MNSSHP's I went to solo in 2004. I went to several last year, just not solo, so no report got made.

I thought the parties solo were great. The CM's are always in a great mood, and much more playful during the parties I have found. I don't really do character stuff solo but I did have a great deal of fun scoping out all the villians who don't come out much the rest of the year. (Be sure to check in front of the castle after closing - last year both Cruella and Maleficent were signing and talking to an all-adult crowd and it was a riot; nothing non-Disney, LOL, but it was really fun watching all the adults getting into it without a kid in sight.)

I actually found the parties even more inviting as a solo, because the costumes really lead people to be alot more friendly and talkative (sort of a "we're all in this together" feeling). People want you to look at them and smile, laugh, etc., because of their costume, and the "ice" is broken much more easily if that's what you are looking for. Although I don't generally dress up (usually I'll wear black and orange, though), I have a great time seeing others and since Halloween is largely about showing-off, the vibe is much more "party" than "park".

Good luck...you'll have a great time! If dressing up is your thing, all the better - if you are especially good or creative you'll have so many people talking to you or at least interacting you'll likely forget you are alone.

I did both last year solo, I went to Party for the Senses once, and MNSSHP twice. I had such a great time.

OT, but at PFTS, I was able to mingle and chat with other guests, and got to try some really awesome food.

At the first MNSSHP I went to I saw the parade, fireworks, and rode some rides, (and I only stayed for about three hours of it, I left after the second parade.) But, the second time I went I stayed for the whole party, and really took in a lot of the "special" party activities, like seeing all the rare characters, and all the shows.

I really enjoyed it a lot both times.
