I really want to go to HHN next year when we are on vacation, but I wonder how scary it is.

I love scary things, but I'm kinda wimpy too :rotfl:

So, I was wondering how scary you all thought it was?

That depends entirely up to you.

HHN has dim lights, fog, and scary people roaming streets trying to make you scream. There are haunted houses, some of which are gory, where there are scary people trying to make you scream as well.

There are guys with chainsaws (no saw, but plenty of noise), creatures with trashcan lids, etc.

HHN is fun as long as you allow yourself to get scared and laugh about it later. The scareactors won't touch you, won't hurt you, and won't chase you....far. They also won't bother you for very long. Just a few seconds at most.

Um, they DO chase after you, I've seen it more than a few times, but they only go a few feet at a time.

Yes, there's leafblowers, air guns and very loud noises, on roofs there's flamethrowers sometimes and it can get very foggy and dark...so yes if you let it, it CAN be very scary, but if you know that its all in fun and don't act scared they wont go after you much.

I watched a woman who was chased by a chainsaw guy run right out of her shoes, and she wouldn't even go back for them. I'm sure she got them back. somehow. :lmao: my first year when they got after me with the chainsaw buzzing at the back of my legs, I would run for my life. now, I just stand and smile at them and they don't bother me after they find out they wont get a fearful reaction. thats how you get them to leave you alone. don't run, and don't act scared when they walk up beside you looking at you all evil like.

I myself, find the mid-ways JUST AS SCAREY as the houses and I always have butterflies in my stomach just as soon as I enter the park because I know what waits ahead. :clown: :faint: :scared:  :crazy2:  :hmghost:= :rotfl2:

We're doomed. :rotfl: One of my friends is a screamer - I mean, she screams at non-scary things! - and I am assuming from what I've just read, that the scare actors will really feed off of that. :gulp: ;)

I remember last year there was a screamer right behind me in one of the houses. she screamed just like a police whistle CONSTANTLY. I at one point I turned around and tried to get her attention to please stop screaming in my ears. she spoke spanish wouldn't you know. my ears hurt the rest of the night. :headache: next time, I will be taking ear plugs with me and a dose of ibuprophen before I leave my hotel room.

yep, the scare actors are going to have a field day with your friend. ::yes::

I wouldn't call it scarey. I think of it more as entertainment. Kinda like a giant show that takes up the entire park.
