I just rode it, and it wasn't too scary! We sat in the third row back, and it was actually hard to see the ghost most of the time.

My kids were scared of ghost galaxy too. Y son loves coasters and space mountain at WDW and refused to go on it again. Also he was told the ghost's name was Delores too by our VIP tour guide.
