How Scary are the Coasters at Six Flags over Georgia?

Hi, I was thinking of taking a trip to Six Flags over Georgia this summer and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how scary the roller coasters are there. I'm a little scared because I've only ridden roller coasters at WDW. RnRC is my favorite ride there but how do the ones at six flags compare?

I don't think they're scary, but I love coasters.

My 12 yo dd is kinda skittish on coasters. She loves the Mine Train at 6 Flags though.

I agree with browneyes, but I too love coasters. There are different levels of coasters though. Start with something tame like...that joker thing(can't remember what it's called) and work up to Deja Vu. I love, love, love(I can't say it enough times) the Georgia Scorcher. Unfortunately, here in NJ, our stand up coaster has been gone a long time and I miss it so much. Have fun

BTW, their Superman is soooooo much better than ours it's not even funny. I stood in awe of the dual loading platform for like 10 min. LOL

what about the batman one? is it on the tamer side or the more extreme side? i can't really tell from the web site.

I find the coasters at Six Flags over Ga absolutely horrifying!!!!!! If you are a thrill seeker you will love them....however, they make girly girls like myself......toss my cookies!

The joker coaster that TheShultzFive referred to is The MindBender and it is an all time favorite. The only thing I don't like about Six Flags is the lines, spend lots and lots of time in the lines. They do have something similar to fastpass, but you have to pay for it, last time we were there it was $19.99 for the first person and so much additional for each other person up to four. It is kind of like one of the pagers you get when waiting for a table. You go to the ride enterance and insert it and then you can go do whatever until it goes off, then you have a certain amount of time to get back to the ride and go right on. Not really worth the hassle to me, end up running back and forth a lot. Six Flags is also a lot of up and down hills. Their coasters are great though if you don't mind waiting. We usually go once a year since it is just 2 hours from us and DS usually earns a free pass from the school reading program. Have a great time!

I like Space and Thunder Mountain. I don't like RRC.....I HATE to go upside down.....I am a W...I...M...P!!!!

The Batman coaster is a metal coaster and you are sitting in a seat with your feet dangling.....the coaster is connected to the track above you. It has several loops in it, it isn't so bad. The Superman coaster you are actually vertical through the ride like you are flying. They also have the Georgia Scorcher in which you stand up throughout the ride. All of these have loops. The DeJaVu is kind of like a slingshot or blast off, the pull the coaster up to the top where it is released and I think it shoots thru two loops up to the other end and then repeats in reverse. They have some great wooden coasters too, the Great American Scream machine and the Georgia Cyclone I think is the other. Great coasters and air time but I guess I am getting old, last time I rode these it felt very rough and made my neck hurt. Don't remember that happening when I was a teen. LOL

We have one of those in NJ too. Ummmm, it's inverted so that may be weird for you if you haven't ever been on one before? Do you like ski lifts? It's like that only faster. I like it(in NJ, I didn't even see it in GA)and if you even kind of like coasters then I think you would be fine on it. It's always a good idea to watch the coasters a couple of times before you go on so you know what to expect. Like I said, the Georgia Scorcher is a great coaster. Some people are a little afraid if they haven't done the "stand up" type b4, but if you can gather the nerver, I don't think you'll regret it. live4christp1 mentioned the fastpass which DH and I used when we went. It worked out great b/c we wanted to ride all the coasters and we went in July and it was crowded. We got to do most of what we wanted and if we didn't have the fastlane we wouldn't have been able to.

Well I have never been skiing. The closest thing is the chairlift at Blizzard Beach, which kind of freaked me out b/c I didn't think it felt very secure. I've gone upside down on Rock n Roller Coaster and love it but that is in the dark so I don't really know how high up I'm going...

You're breaking my heart!!!LOL Why don't you like to go upside down? I'm an ACE member and whenever someone says the don't like coasters, or drops, or going upside down, I shed a little tear(LOL!). No seriously, just out of curiosity why? If you ever wanna take a trip Jersey we've got a great one now called Kingda Ka that I'm sure would convert anyone to a coaster lover.

LOL....I used to ride these coasters as a teenager but the older I get the more they bother me. When I go upside down....I get kinda dizzy and a pervading pukey feeling comes over me.....

We live in the Atlanta area and go to Six Flags several times a year. I absolutely cannot do the large coasters(Ninja, Batman,Superman,Deja Vu, MindBender). Just looking at them scares the starch out of me. The Dahlonega Mine Train is smaller and jerkier, in the manner of Thunder Mtn,very nice at night. I do love the wooden coasters, especially the Great Scream machine. it's just an up-an-down type coaster with no loops, and lots of wind and clacking.

Six Flags is very different from WDW, and not nearly as clean. Don't expect any "magic". However they do have good water rides and they are opening a big new water park inside the park which looks to be inviting. Be prepared for lots of hills and do go up to the highest point to ride the 100yr old carousel over looking the Chattahhochee River. You will not be disappointed.

I actually went to Six Flags when I was in high school (about 7 or 8 years ago) but I was a big chicken and wouldn't even think about riding a roller coaster.

But the past few years that I've gone to WDW I just love the coasters there.

I really like the Water Park, White Water, I went there year before last and it is really good, but I was thinking of making it like a weekend thing do Six Flags on one day and White Water the next or whatever.

Well it is much more secure than a chair lift. I don't want you to have a pic. of a crazy roller coaster with only a little bar to hold you in. It has a standard over the shoulder restraint(like RnRC). Some people don't like the feet dangling thing. Like with Superman, the fact that it's a "flying coaster" and you're looking at the ground the whole time freaks some people out. Personally, I thin kthat's what makes the coaster fun. I say go and do em all. As far as I know you only live once so enjoy, scream your head off, and hold on for dear life.

Here's my opinions...haven't been in about three years though...

run-away mine train: fun but rough, especially if you're tall.

Georgia Cyclone: good old classic wooden coaster.

Batman: always caused me some physical discomfort, headache, nausea. So much happens so fast on this ride, you don't really know where you're at.

Mindbender: NOT TO BE MISSED!!! One of the most FUN coasters you'll ever ride.

Great American Scream Machine: another classic. Not to be missed. Love the bunny hops on the way back in, with a great "headchopper" at the station.

6FOG is really a pretty park, lots of elevation change. Some pretty nice theming in areas....they just don't sweat the details like Disney though, as far as being able to see "backstage", etc. Also, the employees usually have the attitude of someone working in a fast food burger joint....just there putting in their time...although I've heard they've really tried to improve in the area as of late.
