How reliable is the TGV service?

Hi Emma, We were on the platform about 50 minutes before our train was due so just jumped on the next one that came and didn't even take a seat seeing as the journey was so quick. Our tickets didn't get checked at any point. We had no problems at all.

thanks Toodles! that is totally reassuring - on those numbers I might even be able to catch the 9.07am train! Can I ask if you bought a ticket beforehand? I am having trouble on the website working out how to buy one so I am thinking I will just buy it when I get there - is that what you did?

Hi Emmah,
I don't know if this is of any help but I was having problems booking the TGV and it was getting me so frustrated! In the end I realised I was typing in the wrong Charles De Gaulle! lol
I used the site TGV-Europe.com. You must type in 'Airport CDG2 TGV' (my mistake had been putting in Charles De Gaulle etoile!) the Disney station is 'Marne La Vallee'. They're posting the tickets to my home though you can choose to pick them up at the station.

Hi emmah,
we bought our tickets using the Rail Europe website and asked them to post them to us. They arrived the next day.

The other option is to have an email sent and to collect tickets using it but we didn't want to waste any time trying to find where to collect them or having to queue for them.

I had checked the tgv-europe site but the prices were the same as Rail Europe and had been recommended Rail Europe by friends who use the site regularly when arranging travel to european football games.

On Rail Europe the departure point is 'Charles De Gaulle Airport' and destination is 'Disneyland Resort Paris'.

Oh, and what you could do is book the 10.27 train and just use your ticket for an earlier train. It means you have a little leeway if there are any delays.

thank you. i have decided to try and buy the ticket in advance but I will leave it until later in December - just before I fly to the UK, and have them delivered to my address in London.

I would buy from the www.sncf.fr site directly as they are often half the price as at RailEurope. Then just do station pickup - if your credit card has a chip you can use the machine, otherwise it takes just a minute to do it in person.

For that amount of savings it is worth it.

thanks Bavaria, for trying to help = but all this came about (see above) because I can not make that site work - it just keeps sending error messages. the europe rail site has a 13 pound cost for the ticket, and at least it works - so that is what i will go for!

well that sounds like a good price!

The sncf.fr is website very annoying, I will admit, and they change it very frequently.
