How reliable is allears?

When we made our reservations the CM guaranteed us that the 1700 & 1900 were full hookup nonpet loops. and another CM confirmed this when we checked on getting in the 100-200 loops.
They may be non pet loops, but folks with pets may be placed in those loops!!

KUDOS to All Ears.

I went through and edited their FAQ and sent it to them and got an email reply back and they updated it!!!!!

Of course, as we all know now, Loop 900 has been started.

But so far, that is the only error!!

Sweet! Thanks for doing that Carole. They do have a pretty thorough FW page - more than most sites - glad it's all up-to-date and accurate. :thumbsup2

Carol- Thanks for trying to get the incorrect information fixed, but what does this sentence (from allears.net) mean?

Non-preferred sites are located farther from the Pioneer Hall/marina area. A Full Hookup site in a Preferred area will include cable, but you can have a non-cable (Partial Hookup) site in a Preferred loop.

The statement: "you can have a non-cable (Partial Hookup) site in a Preferred loop." Is not correct, and to my knowledge, that has never been the case at FW.

Also, the site states that 400 and 600 are non-pet loops, but here are photos that I have taken post-renovation of poop bag dispensers in these loops:

And, they say 1700 and 1900 are not pet loops, but here are poop bag dispensers in 1600-1900:

So, folks, this forum remains the best place in cyberspace for current and accurate FW info.

They may be getting some of it from disney. When DW changed our rese last week the CM told her that 1900 Absolutely was not a pet loop but I read on here that there are bag dispensers and pets there.

I agree with you completely!!

I told them that Pet Loops were in total flux right now and that nobody knew which loops were going to be pet or non-pet, but they left the original designations from the constructions press release and just put a disclaimer at the bottom of that.

Also in my edit, I deleted the paragraph you mentioned above, because it makes no sense whatsoever. But I guess they took that as no changes to that paragraph and left it.

Once all the renovations are complete, I'll resend edits and make sure I note about that 1 paragraph needing to be deleted completely!!

That may be what it says on the CM's list, but it is true that Disney has put pet people in non-pet loops when needed. At this point I don't think it's safe to say that any loop is 100% guaranteed not to have pets on it.

Makes sense to me.

Until all is said and done, who knows?

I would think that they would make two of the full hook up loops non-pet, but, then, there has also been word given to some that the entire Fort is going to become pet-friendly. So all loops may become pet loops.

Isn't it possible that they just put the bag dispensers everywhere just for convenience of dog walkers who walk outside of their loop? Is it written somewhere that if a loop has a dispenser that means it is a pet loop, couldn't it just mean they want people to do a better job of picking up, so as not to inconvenience those in non-pet loops? I imagine with all the construction it will be irregular for awhile and when everything is done they'll get back to regular pet loops and non-pet loops....

Never camped there so what do I know, LOL :)

The problem with that theory is a few loops that have been otherwise renovated have not received poop bag dispensers: 1200, 1300, and 1400. If this bit of evidence doesn't hold to be true then we have NO IDEA which loops are pet/non-pet.

:santa:

Could be, although technically if the pet is really a "no pets" loop, people shouldn't be walking their pets there either, therefore no need for clean up bags. ;)

More likely (or maybe just wishful thinking) that the rumor of most/all of the Fort becoming pet friendly isn't such a pie-in-the-sky rumor after all.

Time will tell....

Bobby likes doggies. So does Johnny. They both like a doggie friendly Fort. You do the math.

Here's why you find poop bag dispensers on 1600-1900 loops. Those were the original pet loops. Then they added 300 as a preferred pet loop. After that - all bets are off.

I predict that FtW will one day be an entirely pet friendly park. Heck....I've seen dogs on every loop in FtW except the cabin loops. How much you wanna bet someone at sometime snuck their dog into a cabin? I snuck my cats into PORS when we were evacuated there from FtW during a tropical storm. If I've done it, you can bet someone has had their dog in a cabin with them overnight.

Really? I didn't realize, I just assumed people could walk their pets wherever.

Yes, really.

Before all of the recent confusion, there used to be signs posted at the exits to the pet loops which said "No Pets Beyond This Point." Up until early 2008, dogs were not allowed out of the designated pet loops, not even on golf carts. When the Dog Park opened early last year, some of these signs got moved, because folks were allowed to walk their dogs, along designated paths, to the Dog Park.

Since then, the loop renovations have happened, and the "No Pets Beyond This Point" signs have all but disappeared.

In March, when the 600 loop addition opened, I saw a family playing catch with their dog on the grass in front of the Meadow Trading Post. This area used to be off limits to dogs. But, the 600 loop is now a pet loop, so I guess guests figure the adjacent areas are OK for pets, too.

I am waiting to see dogs swimming in the lake in front of the Bike Barn. It is bound to happen. (The alligators are waiting, too).

Bad enough when I take our border collie down to the end of the 300 canal dog walk he always tries to jump into the canal. He's actually managed it a few times when I wasn't paying close enough attention (stupid me - that's how he got a tail full of burrs once too!).

I'm sure it's quite a sight to see a grown woman freaking out and reeling her dog in like she was trying to beat the Guinness record for the fastest landing of a tuna!

Apparently he didn't get the memo about the gators.... :scared1:

:lmao:

...although that would make my pooches VERY happy... not to mention provide a boatload of entertainment for the humans (ever see a border collie try and herd squirting water??) :dance3:
