How reliable are the extended forecasts?

I know it wouldn't be reliable on precipitation but for temperatures? Is it least in the right neighborhood?

As reliable as stock market predictions.

Use the long term forecasts (and incidental reports from people visiting the same time in past years) only as a guideline as to what you might experience. About 2 days before you leave home check again. Then plan for the extremes.

You can always look at the historical averages for temperatures to get a general idea of what to bring/wear, which I assume is why you are asking. Clearly someplace like Florida is going to be warm more often then cold. You didn't indicate when you are going, but obviously in July/August it is going to be hot/humid regardless of what the exact temperature is.
