How quiet is the quiet cove pool?

This is what I wrote on my trip report in 2009:

Rick and I took this opportunity to get in the Quiet Cove pool. There were about 8 adults in the pool or on the edges while we were there. There was also a very talented Nassau trio playing island music. We enjoyed them for a while, but truthfully, we were looking forward to a QUIET Cove and they were not. Despite their talent, they were just too loud for the small area.

This was on Nassau day (afternoon) while a big Disney stars event was happening at the other pool.

We have found it to be quiet and peaceful with no disturbances. Unless you count the one time a couple was getting rather hot and heavy. They left (don't know why) before the real show started.

I really don't think of the quiet cove as "quiet." There seems to be a steady stream of all ages passing by on the port side (not their fault, a bad design by Disney putting the elevator lobby forward of the QC and all the family activities and food aft). Also there is often music; we really like it, but it definitely isn't quiet. You can help things by choosing chairs on the starboard side.

For quiet indoor setting, try the Cove Cafe. For a dead silent retreat with a great view, try the generally unknown Outlook Lounge. Sometimes it feels TOO isolated! But the overlook of the ship and the view of the ocean is great.

QC is a lot more relaxed and quiet than the family pool area, but still can be busy and noisy (live music).

I've spent time at Quiet Cove on two different cruises on the dream. The first was great, relaxing and generally "quiet" but enjoyable adult time enjoying an adult beverage. Last time, my DH and I went later in the afternoon on the day at sea and it was, as some others had referred to it, fairly raucous. No kids, but some of the adults were definitely making the most of it. We even watched several couples sitting around the edge of the pool having what looked to be a "kiss-off" where each couple would kiss one at a time and the other couples would cheer them on. Truly, I believe in "live and let live" but I have to admit the scene that afternoon wasn't my cup of tea. Or Beer. Or Wine...

I know this is not popular but the Quiet Cove pool design on the Dream class ships are the worst in the history of bad ideas.

Having the elevators open up forward of the pool so that non adults have to cross through the area to get to the family pool is just so distracting. I hated it there.

That depends on who is at the pool at the time. I have seen the adult pool area just as rowdy as the kid pool in the past.

Yep. Just got off, and while the adult pool was wonderful when the ship wasn't crowded (port days), on Sea Days it was a Rowdy Fest. Less high pitched screaming, but frankly, just as much noise. We hid in the Cove Cafe or on our veranda.

There are a few hidden spots (like the deck up by Palo/Remy, lounge chairs on deck four) which were functionally unoccupied and much quieter to sit in the sun with a book. Take a good look at deck plans before you board - the areas that are quiet will change from cruise to cruise as a rowdy group invades one spot or another. Scope out a few.

On the Magic, we were very pleasantly surprised by Quiet Cove Pool. During the pirate party, we were at quiet cove just on the other side of the wall and we couldn't hear any of the ruckus going on. It was crazy. I don't know if the Dream is the same, but we were very impressed with the sound barrier.

I enjoyed the quiet cove pool but when I am really looking for a quite area I pay for a day in the Rainforest Room. I always fall asleep in those heated tile loungers.

I am guessing the design of the pool on the new ships doesn't allow the belly flop competitions to be held. I haven't witnessed entertainment CMs leading games at the adult pool on those ships, but saw this happening on the classics every cruise.
