How quickly will Wish maiden sell out?

How quickly do you think the Wish maiden will sell out? I was on the maiden of the Fantasy and was looking forward to trying to sail on the Wish one as well. Since they changed the booking windows we won’t be able to book until the 3rd day since we have 17 cruises. I guess only time will tell. I suppose I can just save the extra money that the Maiden would of been and do a land/sea 4 night cruise and 4 nights at the parks. Ironically that’s what we did for our first cruise on the Wonder in 2005.

With 17 cruises, I think the maiden is yours if you want it and have some flexibility about room type (inside rooms seem in short supply).

The question in my mind is if it is really just first come first serve or if they will hold some inventory and release a little more with each tier to allow gold/silver/dvc/first timers a shot at booking. Will be interesting.

I would expect Disney would raise the price high enough so it won't sell out immediately. Why wouldn't they start the pricing at $25,000 a person and see if the ships fills. My guess is that it would.

If it’s that crazy, for sure we will opt for the DVC cruise which is the next cruise. Even if we have to use points.

Either way, DH and I truly hope to be on one of those two cruises. We are Platinum, I have 34 DCL cruises.

I would love to do this, but think the cost will be out of budget. We have 21 cruises, so I will be interested to see how much the first-day bookings drive the prices upward.

I guess we lucked out when we sailed the maiden of the Disney Fantasy. They changed the date from what they originally planned and the new date happened to be my daughter’s spring break and the prices weren’t that bad for a 7 night cruise so we jumped on it.

Do they actually price the maiden voyages higher than comparable length sailings on the same ship? I mean, I know the maiden is a 5 night, and this ship won't be doing those at first, but like, will the per night charge be significantly more on the maiden voyage?

We were thinking of trying for the maiden just because it lines up nicely with our schedule, but I am not really willing to pay a hefty premium for it.

Yes. Per night cost will be a premium over other sailings.

Okay, good to know. If it's a double dip, I am willing to pay more, but if it's not, I will just book one of the 4 night sailings. I wish they would release detailed itineraries.

My guess is it will be between 50% and 100% more than any other sailings they will have. I believe that has been the history but I could be wrong. I doubt very very much it will be $25,000 per person unless you are looking at the two story suite.

Seriously? But why? Just so people can say "first?"

If the mark up is only 100% the cruise will sell out within hours. Not days.

I'm figuring I don't have a shot at the MV and am considering the DVC cruise. I'm a lowly silver. Any one have an educated guess on whether I might have a shot at the June 17 3-night sailing after the DVC cruise or will that fill up with Plats and Golds?

Given the extra night at sea the pricing of the maiden voyage doesn't look to be that much of a premium at all. About 40% more than the 4 night. The 4 night is already about 33% more than 3 night. I would say the maiden voyage will sell out on one of the platinum days.

I tend to agree with this. Whew!

I'm looking just at this page Find & Plan A Disney Cruise | Disney Cruise Line (go.com)

For 2 people a 4 night is $2061 or $515.25 per night.
For 2 people the MV 5 night is $5769 or $1153.80 a night.

That makes the MV more than 100% more. Maybe I'm missing something?

Maybe it depends on which 4 night you are using comparison. If it's one of the 4 nights in June or July, then they are much closer in price. If you are using a 4 night in September, then there is a big difference.
