How quickly does off-season get booked up?

The plan is to arrive on Monday May 4th and leave on Thursday May 7th so that we are there for Lucas's 1st birthday on Wednesday 6th. I have looked at prices on the DLRP and they are very reasonable, especially compared to what Thomas Cook were telling me! Anyway, I am wondering how quickly this sort of off-season period gets booked up?

I don't want to book now because I want to see what happens in the next few months and how Lucas develops - we may, for whatever reason, decide that come Jan/Feb we would rather wait and take him when he's older. On the other hand we may think he's fit to go for his 1st birthday and would hate to then find it all booked up!

So, any information about early May bookings would be much appreciated.

Off peak I wouldn't have thought you would have any problem at all booking. I managed to get a booking for December 12-14th (which is the 2nd highest price) only 58 days before travelling and there were plenty of rooms available at DCR, so much so that I was able to extend the trip to include the 11th only 45 days before travelling.

When we went in October (off peak) the Santa Fe still had space only 1 week before travelling.

I'd think that you would be fine.

Thanks, fills me with confidence that we can wait and see what happens with Denise going back to work, nursery and other things can change plans in a flash!

We have always booked as far in advance as possible, apart from the first trip which was a last minute present for Denise and is where the obesession started - but that's another story for another time!

I also think you'll be fine waiting until a couple of months before you go to book.

I haven't booked my onsite hotel any further in advance than 3 months for any of my trips (although I sometimes book the flights earlier, if there are sales on etc). Having said that, I did try to book a room at the Santa Fe for low season in June this year, about 4 weeks before we were arriving, and couldn't get a room. But a couple of months before, you should be fine.

I have booked a mid peak room a week before i was due to travel. We went in April during Labor day in france.

So I should think you would be ok :)

This year I booked a room (Santa Fe) for August (high season) just 4 weeks before we went, so I think you should be OK!

Can't recall the whole dates but it is labour day weekend around that time - we were hoping to go early May for DD1 first birthday too (it's the 9th) but someone on here tipped me off that it will be v busy so we are now looking at 10th May as everything will be out of the way by then and the kids back at school etc....

Might be worth checking the holiday stickies at the top :thumbsup2 I guess it could make a difference to the hotel bookings although Emma mentioned she didn't have a prob in the April one?

Labour day was the 1st of May this year in DLP and i booked about 10 days before we went for the Cheyenne, which we then got upgraded to the NPB when we arrived.

It was busy, but not mega mega busy IMO.
