i am wondering this since i need to use our aps by jan9 and want to go 7 days which would be the 3rd thrugh 9...i am having second thoughts about the first week in dec since so many have posted ( and mousesavers seems to agree) it will be busier this year.( not possible for me to stand in line a long time)

from past experience, any ideas how busy the 2 or 3 of Jan will be? ( sunday and monday) ideally would like to get there sat and start touring sun but that doesn't really matter. i did notice some codes didn't go into effect till the 4 th last year which would have been the first sunday after ny so hoping it would be the second this year.

Would love to know this too as we are there 1/1 to 13/1. 3 years ago the parks were like a ghost town except at night for fireworks/ shows and we didn't wait more than 15 mins. for anything. However this was just post 9/11. I have heard that most schools go back 3/1 so I am expecting sun 2 to be packed and then for things to quieten down. Anyway, i shall keep reading this thread with interest,
Claire

Just depends on how NYE falls, this year it is on a Friday, so crowds will be heavy through Sunday for sure. Things should calm down considerably beginning on Monday, Jan 3rd as schools start back.

I was in the parks the day after NYE in 2000 and was shocked at how empty it was! I think people stay out late the night before, and then they lounge around their resorts the next day or get a late start and just hit things like DTD. However, since it's a Friday this year, it is a tough call. I would expect for it to be a little more crowded, but I still think you would be ok.

I've been twice over NYE in the past 4 years, and I was absolutely AMAZED at how INSTANTLY the crowds go away. Honestly, it is like a different world on January 2. You can get on any ride, etc. It really is an amazing thing to see! :D

I've worked in the parks for 9 years and as others have stated New Years Eve vs New Years Day is a different world. The parks are SLOW on New years Day because everyone was out late the night before...not to mention Football. I agree that being a Friday the parks should be back to slow season by Monday. You will see a drastic change on January 1 and as each day goes by it gets slower and slower :) Jan. 2 is a perfect time to come.

I've gone several times right after NYE, twice I checked in on 1/1. Crowds have always cleared out very quickly-no appreciable crowds by 1/2. One year I commented on how surprised I was that the crowds were gone (this was on 1/2) to a CM in Epcot. She told me that apparently everyone parties and spends all their money NYE and has no more money to stay after that! I expect/hope 2005 will be the same. I see that many schools start up again 1/3, so hopefully all the crowds will be gone again by 1/2. Maybe I'll see ya there-at BWV 1/2-1/6.
