How quickly do Star Wars popcorn buckets sell out?

We recently saw that the new popcorn buckets for SWW this year are Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Of course, now DH wants one. http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2015/...-popcorn-bucket-coming-to-star-wars-weekends/

Our first day in the parks is May 17, and we have Tusker House reservations at 10:30 (all our FP+ reservations are for after breakfast/lunch). Do the popcorn buckets sell out fast enough that DH should head over to DHS for RD that morning (we have park hoppers)? Obv SWW starts a couple days earlier, but we don't get in until May 16; are there any other places besides DHS to buy the buckets? Will they maybe even be sold out by May 17? Thanks!

It will totally depend on what inventory they have available and how popular they are. These are going to be VERY popular so it's just best to hope that they have a very large inventory and they don't all sell out the first weekend. Personally I would be very surprised if they sold out the first day...but not if they sold out the first weekend.

Star Wars Weekend starts May 15 and those who signed up for the merchandise event on the 14th will get first crack at buying these. and if it's done like in the past you will only be able to buy them at DHS and only during the weekends.

I'll have to go back and look, but I think I saw that the ones last year were like $12.50 if filled with regular popcorn, and a few dollars more with caramel corn.

EDIT: I found a picture from last year showing that the Darth Vader bucket was $12.50 with popcorn, $14 with caramel corn (including sales tax).

May 17 is a Sunday; it sounds like maybe DH should make a RD trip over to DHS to try to pick up a bucket or two that morning.

Any idea if they're sold all over the park, or just at one or a couple locations?

Well I guess it depends on whether this guy shows up. He purchased an entire carton at opening when they were restocked. I guess Disney even made a few extra pennies as he did not get the popcorn with them.

Usually, they will be at all the popcorn carts in DHS. This was the case for all of the limited edition popcorn buckets we have seen. FYI the Cinderella bucket is currently selling for $40-$50 on ebay.

Yeah, I've seen several of the popcorn buckets for sale on eBay (and Amazon) for several times more than their original price.

Always, disappointing to see a child that wants one and they are sold out because someone has bought them all to resell. This has happened with several merchandise items my children wanted during SWW.

Well, he's not a child (maybe a big kid), but it would be disappointing if DH couldnt buy one because someone bought them all up for resale.

At times they will put a limit on purchases, like 2 per person, but that wouldn't stop anyone from bringing 16 friends and each buying 2.

Really wish they would do this with more items. People by cases of the vinylmation at SWW, don't know why they did not limit that. The popcorn buckets are becoming very popular. We have some from Tokyo Disney that are very elaborate, hopefully we will get more at WDW.
