How quickly do LM rooms at AoA sell out?

Hi,

I'm planning a trip in summer of 2014 with just my son and I. He wants to stay in AoA (and he's willing to accept the LM themed room). I was just chatting on the WDW website and was told I should reserve a room-only now then call back later in the summer to make it a package. Do the rooms really sell out that fast?

In general is AoA a good choice over the All Stars? I'm a little concerned about long waits for busses and long walks that I read about in tripadvisor, but I guess that's to be expected at anything other than a deluxe. Also, is it true there are no discounts with AoA?

I tried to add a night at a LM room before our poly stay in February and couldnt get it at all. I booked the poly in october and had no problem but decided a month later to try to add lm room and kept trying up until we left and never got it.

Icant comment on the resort itself but it is always left out of discounts this far.
