How quickly do 2 BRs fill first wk of Dec?

We have a studio, but want to add some folks to bring along on our trip. We're going Dec 2-9 and want to get a 2 BR instead. I tried calling when this all came about Friday, but MS was already closed. What do you think my chances are? TIA!

Chances are slim to none that there will be a 2BR available. They sell out as fast as studios do. Waitlist can work wonders, I hear, but you still are chancing it. MS will have the final word tomorrow.

That's what I am afraid of- we tried for a 1 BR a few weeks ago and waitlisted for that- no luck yet.

I'd be very surprised if there were any 2 bedrooms for that week at ANY DVC resort. We have a 2 bedroom that reserved at 11 months out, and are changing to a 1 bedroom the second week after our guests leave. Good luck on that waitlist!

I've been on the waitlist for BCV 2 bedroom since 9months out and BWV since 7 months out trying to get out of VWL2bdrm with no luck yet.

Well, I just waitlisted for the 2 BR at any place on property. We'll see- I know it's a long shot, but with 5 of us going, I don't have much of a choice. DS will sleep with us, but we'd much rather a 2 BR for comfort sake.

Just in case anyone was wondering, they did have a 2BR on the first and last days of our stay, so 12/2 & 12/8- maybe I should have taken those and then waitlisted for the middle? Oh well.

Hmmm- wonder if we should just change to a reosrt where you can do 5? What do y'all think? We could do a Moderate with 5 and it'd be a change of pace.

You can take the end days and work on the middle. It MAY mean moving.

BUT...if you waitlist day-by-day you might get all your days faster. If you waitlisted for the whole time, you will only get that IF all days come available at the same time AND you are at the top of the list for a 2BR.

Getting one day here and one day there might happen faster for you, but there is that uncertainty.

I used my BWV points but wanted to stay at a studio from Dec 2-10 at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, so I waited until the 7 month window to book. Apparently this was a mistake. I should have booked at my home resort 11 months out then trade if I could. I have a 1 bedroom at Saratoga during this time because that was the closest that was available.

The system is currently to be waitlisted and things seem to happen in the last 30 days. DVC just doesn't have a good system for switching out reservations that we get to have something with other DVCer's who didn't get what they wanted either, but have what we want.

You would think that with this forum, two people with reservations the other wants could find each other on the forum and they both call the DVC reservations at the same time to have them swap our reservations. I know it could get tricky but there has to be a better system than what is out there now.

I agree Baloo- I have heard of others who'd like to switch and I'd love to just be able to do that easily. Oh well fo rnow- maybe we can suggest that! There should be a way for the computers to recognize that I have what you want and you have what I want and be able to make that switch easily.

zulaya- yes, I was thinking of that, to get the end days and then WL day-by-day, but it concerned me a bit- I'd hate to move multiple times. Do you think it'd all come through if I just did it day-by-day? Or maybe how much better are my chances in everyone's opinion? Thanks again!!

Technically, you could already do this simply by putting each others names on the existing reservations and working out some sort of deal for any point discrepancies. Basically, you'd be renting points to each other.

I have never waitlisted but am just going off what I have read over the years on this board. Day-by-day people seem to report getting all their days more often than if you waitlist for the whole time. I'd hate to move multiple times, too. But I think the number of people waitlisting for individual days are probably vastly smaller than those waiting for a whole 5 day stay.

It's a roll of the dice, sure. But if you absolutely need a 2 BR anywhere, this *might* be the best chance you have.

I agree with Granny, that there IS that option. The other is that the waitlists do work, and waitlisting day by day should get you what you want. Sure you run the risk of having to move once, but you also MIGHT get the whole thing that way.

Your other issue is that you have a studio and want a 2BR - if you waitlist and get some of the days but not all what will you do with the extra people. Unless you have enough points to hold all the dates, rooms etc without cancelling everything I think I would be very careful. Waitilisting day by day will probably be a better chance than for the whole time but I wouldn't cancel anything until I had enough days and rooms for the entire group. Good luck - it can be really an anxious time waiting for someone to call - I currently have several waitlists out there for the last week in November(2 BR VWL) and NYE (any 2 BR). Couldn't do it day by day for the first one as would have to borrow points to hold the rooms and I don't like to do that in case we didn't get them all. Good luck and lots of pixie dust.
