How quickly can I rent a non-park only scooter?

I have a motorized WC, but I strongly suspect my DH, might find he’ll need a scooter at some point in our 2 week vacation. I would never expect day-of, but as long as there is availability, would I be able to get one next day? It’s pride for him. It’s annoying beyond belief, but that’s him. :headache::rolleyes2 He won’t admit anything, ever, but once the pain is bad enough, it might force the issue.

I would call the scooter rental and just pose this question to then. I assume they can do it fairly quickly dice they are at the resorts daily.

Just keep in mind that it may somewhat depend on the time of year when you go. If it's a really busy time, the offsite vendors could be fully booked and may not have a spare to rent last-minute. If your trip is at a "quieter" time of year, it probably isn't a problem. I would be sure to have numbers for 3-4 vendors just in case.

Great advice!

I was able to rent one and get it fairly quickly over the busy 4th of July holiday once. I was surprised they had them honestly but it was the first company I called.

There are so many ECV rental companies in Orlando that I think your chances are fairly decent to find one, but it may not be your preferred company.

It really does depend, I know Gold will do all they can to accommodate and will quite often be able to do even sane day. You could also call them now to give them the heads up and ask for advice on what to do.

An option that I could think of is go ahead and rent for the entire trip and ask if you can take delivery only when needed. Really the extra days beyond one week aren't going to be bad.

As for pride, point out to him that Disney has removed A LOT of the benches and thanks to Genie+, etc. There is quite a bit more back and forth.l, which is going to result in more need to stand and walk further. DH had the same attitude for the longest time, but one time finally had to cave in and rent (very last minute) when he was in so much pain he was in tears. This was before Gold Mobility existed and it was very hard for him to find a rental, but he did and it was a game changer for our trips.

Thanks. Guys! We'll be there in a month. Just before prime Spring Break time but it will be getting busy. So I'll keep all your advice in mind and make my assessments quietly. Who knows, maybe he'll be fine, but I suspect he may appreciate it at some point. Gracias!

I was able to get one on the evening of the same day I called, during a moderately busy week in June. So, while it can depend on a lot of factors, it’s certainly not beyond the range of belief that you could get one pretty quickly.

Just have multiple vendors names and numbers put together. So if need be your not spending a lot of time searching for ecv rentals.
