I'm in Colorado so I'm setting my alarm tomorrow for
4:50 a.m. :scared1:

Do I call right when Disney opens or should I get in que
5 min befoe the hour?

I called right at 7 and kept it on redial so as soon as they opened I got through.. I got through and got all of the ADR I wanted I have to call back for 3 of them but thats fine.. Ill just do the same right at 7!

This is going to sound a little nutty- but let me give you my rundown on how I did it and I luckily got right through- no hold time.

Do a dry run the day before- what I suggest is call the Disney Dining number and just hit all 1's as soon as the opening spiel guy is almost done talking. I start hitting 1's (those are answers to all those annoying questions Disney asks) as soon as I hear the answer- when the system is ready it will then send you through. Doing the 1's thing I believe is the quickest easiest way to get right through- even though some of your answers will be things like you are already in the Orlando area. By testing the system you will be comfortable with what you need to do the next day.

Now the morning of- what I do is sit on my computer with the phone in my hand. I find the website with the official U.S. atomic clock time and have it up on my computer. I start dialing when it says 6:58 Eastern time- ususally though Disney almost opens exactly at 7:00 atomic clock time- but you never know! Hit the ones- and hopefully you will go right through.

Sorry if I was a little longwinded- but that worked for me on both the reservations line on the first day free dining was available to card holders, and also the dining number at my 180 days out- I never had to wait on hold- the calls went right through. They did ask for my reservation number on the 180 days though- so you might want to have that handy.

Good luck!!!

At that time of day your wait will be minutes if not seconds. When going through the voice menu you'll be asked if you've been to Disney in the last year, more that a certain number of times in the last several, etc. We go often so my answer is 'Yes' to all of these, I think you hit '1' for yes. Whether true or not, answer yes, that MAY get you through faster. I never get held up making ADRs. Call on the hour.

I think cell phones are tied to the atomic clock so I'll use that as my 'time keeper'

I have called right at 7 and had up to a 20 min wait........it just depends on the number of other callers that are trying right at 7

I called this morning at 7:02 and waited about 15 minutes. I did get all the ADRs I asked for.

I called this morning at 7:02 - waited 2 minutes and got all of my requested ADR's. I have been worried about it for weeks and it was so much easier then I anticipated so I'm happy!

I think it depends on what time of the year you are looking at. When we go in October there is never an issue when getting through in the 180 day mark, but when you get closer to the holidays more people are there wanting ressies. I think if you call at 7 am you might or might not have a wait just depending but it will be better than being on hold later, I am also in CO and have found that if we call at 1 PM our time I get through easy too. So just a thought if you do not want to wake up that early.

I called right at 2 minutes before 7 am .... was hold hold for 3 minutes and the total time from line connection to the end of my 9 day reservations was 21 minutes!

for my trip in Oct. I called just after 7am CST, and was on hold maybe 2 minutes. Once the CM came on the line, everything went fast and smooth and i received all the ADRs and times I wanted, including lunch at CRT! Total call length: 23 min.

I have been calling daily a couple times a day, and never wait more than a minute. I have been hoping someone cancels a reservation in June. I would not set an alarm to call personally. It always seems to be quick.

Unless you need CRT, or something really special (Illuminations cruise), you don't have to call right when they open. Most restaurants don't fill up for days (even Le Cellier) to weeks. The crazed planners are not at as high a level in the general public as they are here on the boards.

But...If you do decide to do that, the best & easiest strategy is to start dialing about 3 minutes before the time they open. If you get the message that they are still closed, dial again. When you get a different message, go through the phone tree. If you want, call the day before to determine the phone tree and get through faster...I followed this for booking on the day free dining opened, and I got through with NO wait! :cool1:

we are wanting Cinderella's Breakfast on Sat Nov 1st- 1st thing in the a.m.
and also getting ADR for Le Cellier late lunch earlier on our trip as well as
Liberty Tree Tavern on the night of our MNSSHP.

I just called yesterday...I slept in a little and called about 8 minutes late:scared1: ...I was on hold maybe 5 minutes...but everything I wanted(including CRT) was available at the times I wanted. I think October is a pretty easy time to book, so don't stress too much.:thumbsup2

Last year we went in October, called right at 7 on the day we needed to to make ressies for Liberty Tree Tavern on the night of our MNSSHP and all they had by the time I got through was 8:45pm. Not good with a 4 year old. So this year we are going to MVMCP and believe me I will be on the phone right at 7 again, doing my best to get a good ressie. Good Luck.
