Good evening everyone...:goodvibes
I have read so much about these "codes", but have never received one....or even known anyone who got one. I am starting to think they are an urban legend or something. :lmao: We travel to Disney every year (except for last year). We always stay onsite. We always book with a TA, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I am registered on Disney's website. Can someone please tell me how do I go about getting a code. We are looking to travel to Disney Aug 21-28/08. :thumbsup2
Thanks in advance
Erin

The only advice I can give as far as getting a "PIN" code (a code only used by you, with your name & address listed, non-transferable) is to sign up for everything Disney-wise and order the free planning DVD. Here's what mousesavers says about PIN codes:

For the past several years, Disney has regularly sent out masses of postcards (and more recently, e-mails) that offer deeply discounted Walt Disney World resort rates to the recipients. I can't publish those discounts, because Disney uses a PIN number system so that only the recipient can use the code. (When you call in with your PIN number, they match your name and address to it. You can't share the PIN with anyone else.)

How do you get on the lists for these special postcards and e-mails? No one knows exactly, and believe me, I've done a lot of research on it. It appears that Disney's marketing department uses a variety of lists at different times.

If you want to have the best possible chance of getting these mailings, it's definitely a good idea to register with Disney.com and be sure to click on the boxes that indicate you're interested in Walt Disney World. You might also want to go to DisneyWorld.com and request a vacation planning video. It also appears that they may use mailing lists from DisneyShopping.com, subscribers to Disney publications and Disney Rewards® Visa® Cardholders. In short, sign up for anything Disney (especially Disney World related) you can, and keep your fingers crossed!

If you are a repeat resort guest and have already subscribed to a lot of Disney lists, it's possible you have received a discount e-mail but it went into your "spam" folder or was filtered out as junk mail by your e-mail provider. However, if you are in the Disney reservations system, the discount information should be associated with your name. For that reason, when you call the Disney Reservations Center to make room reservations, it's worthwhile to make a polite inquiry. You might say something like "Would you mind checking to see if I am on the list for any room discounts? I'm afraid I may have missed a promotional e-mail." Don't bother calling about this if you have never stayed on Disney property before -- you almost certainly won't be in the system.

Last year there were "regular" codes (for everyone to use) that came out at the end of June for stays in August, so keep watching here and they will be posted in the discount section here on the DIS as soon as they show up if they are offered again this year! :cutie:

I called today to book for our Sept trip. When I made the ressie for a Value, I was offered to stay at the Coronado Springs for only $60.00 more for the entire week, which meant that I would have been saving around $500.00. I passed up the offer, because I am hoping for Free Dining instead, and you can't use both promos. Maybe you should call and book and see if they offer a deal?

Are you receiving emails from Disney Destinations? That is the only time I've gotten codes...(yaha, it's only when I'm not looking, I save all my emails and looked back at last Fall and there were three codes in a row!! :confused3 ) now that I REALLY REALLY need one, I'm bone dry! :) But, I have faith and I think it will come,

:goodvibes I do believe in code fairies! I do! I do!

Join in with me, and let's hope those fairies feel our goodvibes! :)

Best of luck!
Tara

If you're not getting Disney Destination emails then call reservations and tell them...I am registered at Disney.com but didn't get the DD emails until I gave them my email...they didn't have it.

I sent for the video late last year. I haven't received any emails from Disney Destinations. I tried this morning to register again, but it said my email was already in their system:confused: I decided to register hubby through his work email, we'll see if that does anything? Any other thoughts?

Also, our fall trip is a family reunion. Reservations will be in our name (as we are paying for all), but what if my mom or sister received a code in their names? Could we apply that even as they will be on the reservation, too, just not the lead name?
