How old were you when you first got contacts?

I was 13. Since I had Kurt jr, they have been nothing but trounle though. I have a scar on my left cornia from not enough O2 getting through, and now they hurt if I where them. so glasses it is for me...blah!

I got them in 9th grade so about 12 years or more ago? Ugh! My Mom made a deal with me that it was either contacts or a yearbook. I opted for the contacts and saved babysitting money for the yearbook

I'm waiting a few years to get the new laser proceedure. Ah, to wake up and be able to see!!

Yep, you're old. And to make that confirmation, I needed to use my calculator to add up your age. For some reason I couldn't do the math in my head. The mind is the first thing to go, and I can't remember the second.

I got my first pair at age 17 - I paid for them myself. I've been wearing hard (now gas perm) for almost 35 years! I think it all depends on the child. Some are responsible enough at age 9 - others not even at age 16! They have to really want this to do well.

I was 12 and wore gas permeable contacts. Whew!! Talk about aging you 5 years! LOL!!

I wear soft now I wore the gas perms until I was 25.

I got mine for my 16th birthday...24 years ago. Now I'm thinking about Lasik.

I got them around 13...didn't do well with them and then tried again at 16..again not my thing..something about having a small bump type thing on my eyeball and the contacts couldn't sit right with it...BUT...then I got Lasik surgery and have not looked back since!! It was the BEST thing I ever spent my money on and I would do it again in a heartbeat if need be rather than wear glasses again!

I wore them for a couple years in college and didn't really like them. I tried them again a year ago and LOVE them. DS10 got contacts about a month ago after many trips to get his glasses bent back into shape. DD10 is getting them on Monday after mom accidentally broke her glasses, oops. DS is doing great with them and DD will as well.

I was 22--they were a college graduation present! But when I first wore glasses, I only needed them for distance, so it didn't bother me. (I was 14 when I first got glasses).

DS was 14. He is 17 now and wears the night and day ones. He loves that he no longer has to take them out at night.

i have worked at eye places for over 5 years and i have seen parents but kids as young as 6 years old in them.... poor things

16. I'd had the lenses in my eyes removed and had to wear bifocals. The lenses were the hard lenses and made a huge difference in my vision. I still wear the gas permeables.
