How Old Were You The Last Time You Were 'Carded'

50 :) and I was thrilled (never mind it is the store's "policy" to card anyone that might be 40.... or less) :)

DH laughed.

51. I don't mind if everyone gets carded, but one place has started carding just me and not my DH. I posted about it a few months ago and got flamed for complaining about it, but it still tickes me off so I no longer buy alcohol there. We ate there friday night and once again DH wasn't carded for his beer, but I just had iced tea.

This place must have forgotten that everyone in Indiana is now suppose to be carded, not just middle aged women. FWIW, I was carded before the law went into effect.

We normally eat in the bar area, when we don't have the kids. Ever since the law went into effect, we get carded, just to sit in the bar. That had never happened before.

53. This weekend at World Market. Obviously it's their policy to card everyone, but it seems pretty silly. I can see telling cashiers to card if they think someone looks under 30, but carding grandmothers is going a little too far I think (I'm not a grandmother but I COULD be!).

Early 20s, I think. I am now 34, and I get insulted when I go somewhere with a sign that says "We card up to 39 1/2", and I'm not carded. :rotfl:

I was carded last month at Meijer. As a matter of fact, it was the day after my birthday. I'm 46yo. My dd(24yo) was there the day before and she didn't get carded.

My friend was carded last week. She thought that it was a cruel joke as she just turned 50 but it wasn't. The cashier got mad when she said "you've got to be kidding".

I know it's their job so I'm guessing that she got in trouble and now she cards everyone.

I was at Aldi over the summer when they refused to sell a bottle of wine to an elderly lady that came on a bus from the senior citizen living center because she didn't have a license or state ID. They have a policy posted to card everyone.

I'm 36 and I got carded at the July 4th celebration in my town. Sort of...the way they do it, if you want to buy beer, you need to go through the "ID tent" first and get a wristband. That way, the beer tents don't have to card everyone separately.

Otherwise...it's been a while. In fact, in recent years I've had one incident where I was trying to buy cold medication for my mother and the scanner kept beeping at the cashier. She finally realized..."Oh, you need to be 30 to buy this. Are you 30? Never mind, you look like you're over 30..."

And the second incident was trying to buy a six-pack at the same store...the cashier asked me for my birthdate; I gave it verbally and offered my license as well. She looked at me for a moment, then said, "No, I believe you, you look that old" :scared1:

I blame the lighting in that store...

Earlier this year at a casino in PA. I was 35:rotfl2:

The best was in upstate ny I was 30 and very pregnant with my 3rd child. My husband had me go in the gas stations and buy him cigarette. At the time I think they law was 18.. now I know its 19 here. I so did not look 18 and my oldest son was 12 and in the store with me.

52 - they do it for everyone regardless of how old a person is/looks.

Well, two days later we went back in to buy another bottle of wine. Nobody asked for anything, and I had makep on and looked a lot better (I thought). :rotfl: I still think it was the hat. ;)

I was carded this past month at a Cincinnati Reds game. The sign said that they would ask for ID for anyone under the age of 35. My age is 54....it took me by surprise.

i got carded last weekend at krogers buying beer. i'm 45 and had just run in with my cash in hand and didn't bring my purse in with me so i didn't have my license. i was so embarrassed because the little girl at the register wouldn't let me buy it, and the man behind me graciously offered to complete the transaction for me.

the funny thing was that i recognized the girl as a friend of my neighbor's daughter! i keep hoping i'll run into her one day so i can say hello :rotfl:

I get carded everytime. Bars and stores have made it a policy to card everyone no matter how old they look.

They tried the "35 or older" rule but that seemed to offend everyone. The ones that looked younger were offended they had to actually take the time to pull out their ID and the ones that looked older were offended that the clerk/bar tender thought they looked old . They couldn't win no matter what they did so they switched to the "carding no matter what" rule.

I was in the store the other day and saw an older man having a temper tantrum because he didn't want to show his ID, something about the store trying to steal his information. The clerk just looked at him and said "No ID, no purchase."

I was carded at Harrahs (sp?) casino in New Orleans about 2 years ago. I was 36 at the time. I don't mind at all, it makes me feel good! The funny thing is we just went in to use the restroom. DH is 7 years older than me, he said "you want to see my ID?" they said "no" He teases me when I get carded. I don't think I have been carded since then.

I'm almost 42 and get carded at the liquor store or grocery store. Most of the time I think the cashiers card everyone to cover themselves. I certainly don't look close to 21. :lmao:

I understand the law, but seriuosly some of these we card everyone are ridicualous, clearly some people are over the age!

I get carded alot, altho not recently but people say I look really young, (ill be 30 this week) so while it bothers me to no end, sometimes espcially when im buying lotto on a whim and my id is in the car, i understand.

Last weekend at my school's homecoming concert. I'm 21 but I definitely look younger (more like 17 haha) and I was buying a glass of wine. Oddly enough, the next night at a club/concert venue in NYC I DIDN'T get carded :lmao:

With me it varies. If I'm with my friends, 9 times out of 10, I won't get carded. If I'm with my parents - always LOL

I get carded every time I buy beer at our local Wegman's store. It is their policy to card EVERYONE. I've been in line behind obviously old men who were carded! :rotfl:

I got carded a couple months ago at a winery. They really didn't believe I was 39. LOL

It was a long time ago, but I think I was around 30.
