We took my dd for the first time when she was 5 mos. The only reason we went was b/c my whole family was going. Otherwise we would have skipped it. We went to DL when dd was 2.5 and ds was 7 mos. DW when dd was 3.5 and ds 20mos, DW again when dd was almost 4 and ds 2. Going again when dd is 4.5 and ds almost 3.

I think this might be a great trip for us!!!! Both kids are super excited!!!

My DS was just under 9 months old when we took him for his first trip (April).

I dont think you are every "to young or to old". There are only a few exceptions, meaning I would never take an infant in the middle of the summer.

I dont think I would personaly plan a trip for before a child is 6 months old. Just because you never know what will happen with labor & delivery/new infant. But once Mom bounces back from pregnancy & delivery & you "know" your baby, I say go.

For our first trip our boys were 4, 2, and 2. That was perfect! We have been almost every year since then. So, my DD's first trip was when she was 8 months old and that was awesome too. I am not sure I would have planned my first trip with her at 8 months unless their were older kids too. If it were just her, I would have waited until she was 1.5 or 2. If you bring one that is one year old or younger, then I would definitely use a Baby B'Jorn or other carrier. That was a lifesaver for our first trip with DD.

Our daughter was 13 mos the first time and 26 mos the 2nd time. She'll be a little over four when we go in 2009.

There were so many things we enjoyed each of the times. I can't wait to see what happens the next time.

We are taking our children for the first time next month. They are 8, 7, 2 and 8 months.. My first trip as a child, I was 14-15!! I had a BLAST!

We just returned from a trip with DD 14 and DS 10. DD was 13 months on her first trip and Ds was 23 months. We have been every other year since dd's first visit. We also go with dgp who are in thier 70s and 80s. Anyage is a great age for Disney IMHO!!

I think that there is something for any age at WDW. I would just think about what time of year to go with a little one. Summer months may be to hot for a little one under a year old. Don't want them too be hot and crying the whole time. Would rather for them to be just strolling around in the stroller sleeping or checking out the sights. Your trip will be what you make of it. Enjoy!

Both of our daughters were approximatley 1-1/2 on their first trips. They each had a great time and remember some of it.

DD was 3 months....my husband had convention for work so I could not pass it up. I just think that it is what you can handle. My DS was 2yrs when my DD was 3months....people thought I was crazy....I had no problems and we had a great time. Part of the time my husband was in a different hotel but I had my SIL and BIL with me to help. My DS was 10months the first time we took him....that was a piece of cake and he loved it

Our dd was 8 months on her first trip, 18 months on her second and will be nearly 23 months when we go in January. She still remembers things from the last trip (namely the carousel in fantasy land that we rode over and over).
I agree with previous replies that I don't think there is any age too young but I would probably be cautious planning a trip in advance for a very young baby if you are a first time mum. No one really knows how they are going to be as a parent (birth recovery, routines etc) so I would wait and see how you are before you book. Also coming from the UK trips for us tend to be 2 weeks long so a different situation to a weekend trip. Absolutely agree to avoid the hot summer months though!

Seems like a lot of folks are a lot more agressive than we are. DW and I had a great Disneymoon and always talked about returning when we had a family. This past summer we took DS5 to Disney as a way to celebrate his starting school in the Fall. We were able to ride most of the rides he was interested in, have awesome character interactions, and best of all, we were certain he'd remember his first trip to WDW.

Our youngest was just 3 months when we went this fall. She was just fine on the plane, rode most rides with us, got no illness from WDW that people worry about, etc. Our older kids were not that young when they went for the first time, but they were pretty little. We've never regretted it! I'd rather have to go to the nursing area a few times a day and be at Disney World than be at home!

If everything goes according to plan (which is probably won't, i know), our DD or DS would be 9 months at the time of our trip in November 2009. We will also have both of my parents along with us to help out with the baby, and to keep him/her while DH and I ride - they don't ride thrill rides. Plus, we would be going in late November, so the temp wouldn't be a problem.

My kids were 5, 2 1/2, and 3 respectively. My biggest kid (DH) was 29 when I first took him. I've officially gotten them all hooked.

The youngest I've taken a baby so far is 11 months however on our next trip our new baby will only be 4 months. We are not going when it's hot so I think it will be fine.

We took ds7 when he was 4 months old the first week of December. Warm in the am and a nice Disney stretchie at night.

We had the stroller of course and put him in the baby bjorn for the rides. Pretty much all of Fantasy land and we started his love of the characters.

IF you take a little one find a marker for the rest of the trips. EVERY trip we stand him up next to Mickey's mailbox at Toontown (first one DH held him) to see how he grows.

Also we put pirate hats on him and dh and have them pose next to the bars at the exit of POC. When ds had a POC birthday party we made a huge collage of those pictures.
