My sister, her husband, and their 2 year old are coming to Disney with us. Can her 2 year old ride Pirates? My kids are older so I don't know the answer to this. Thanks! pirate:

Yes, the 2yo can ride Pirates. I don't know how the child is with dark rides, but it scared my 2yo DD. I think we'll try again in October. :)

My 2 year dd rode it in Oct. and was fine. The only part that gets scary is the beginning when it's really dark and that voice keeps saying "dead men tell no tales". :scared1: After the little drop things get much better.

My DD was just under 2 when she rode it for the first time. She did just fine. She is 8 now and still loves to ride it.

It depends on the kid I guess. I think most 2yr olds dont get afraid of stuff too easily, my sister wasnt scared when she was a baby. There are going to be new special effects soon though so Im not sure wt theyll be like.

I agree with TinyLolitaBunny. It depends on the child. My DS was 1 1/5 when he first rode it and was fine.

In theory a child can ride any attraction that doesn't have a height limit. In practice only you will know what your child will/won't like. Some babies take it all in their stride. Some 6 year olds hate POTC/HM etc

It depends on the child. At 2, my DS hated it. At 3, he remembered that he was scared the year before (yes, he remembered) and did not want to go on. At 5 he declared it is his favorite ride.

My nieces were 1 and 3 when they first rode POC. The 1 year old loved it and still considers it her favorite ride at 3. My other niece is now 5 and she HATES it, doesn't even like to be near the entrance because she's afraid we'll make her go on.

I gotta tell ya, in September my sister and I took turns taking my niece on so one of us could stay with the older one. When I went on with her there was nobody online, we walked right on and had a boat all to ourselves with nobody on the boats before or after us. It was kind of freaky! When we got back off I told my sister I sort of understood why Bri is so scared of that ride. She said the same thing happened when she rode before me and she had thought the same thing. I love POC, but being in there totally alone was a bit frightening, so I could really see why young kids might not like it.

My 1 1/2 year old like the ride, but now that he will be 3 on our next trip, I think he might be scared of it this time. He was not aware of the dark until about 25 months old.

2 should be fine, but I would say don't make that the first ride, get the little one used to dark rides first then sort of let them know what will happen so they don't have to be scared (nothing can touch you and if you get scared you can close your eyes, we'll be here so you dont' have to be afraid, etc.) I found that my children didn't have any problems with rides when we primed them for them.

This has been my 4 y/o DD's favorite ride for a couple of years now. She is afraid of the dark, but we prepared her first and she was fine. She was asking me yesterday when can we go on it again (it was closed when we visited last month). She HATES Haunted Mansion though. I think it all depends on the child.

I think you must talk the child through the beginning of the ride. Explain that it will be very dark and make a joke of the scary voices and how funny they are. If a two year old goes into the ride without preparation, I think it could be very frightening for them.

After the first minute or two, the ride becomes much lighter, with singing and unfrightening images.

Ou 21 month old rode this ride, as well as the haunted mansion, and he was fine...no problem at all! he is very easy going though and nothing much bothers him. They are changing pirates soon to match the movie, so find out if and when those changes will be made. have fun!
