How old should you be for a PG movie

For my kids it depends more on the kid than the movie when it comes to PG.I research the movie and if iy because of a few words or rude words then they can see it.If it is due to mild violence I usually don't let my DS7 see it but the others are fine.My DS7 was scared of Spy Kids. PG-13 has been a total no with one exception. We let my son who is almost 10 see it with his dad.I have had problems with him going to friends houses that don't monitor their kids' tv.

I've heard this too. The other night my DS (10) was watching the Discovery Channel and a baby hippo got eaten by an alligator. He was just DEVASTATED because teh show seemed so "happy" until that part. He fretted all night about that baby hippo.
OMG! I was watching this show the other night and turned it off when the alligator came around. I just knew what was going to happen. I'm so glad I turned it off. I can't watch stuff like that.

OP, my 4yo loves the Incredibles too. He's even seen the Spiderman movie and the Hulk movie. He watched those with DH, so I couldn't really say anything about the "appropriateness" of those movies. I think the people who are "shocked" are just uptight people who don't know what they're talking about. I wouldn't worry about it. Let your son have the party that he wants.
