For me personally it would probably be around 37 or 38 just because I don't want to be raising kids for that long.
In general I guess I feel that it is fine for a woman to keep having kids as long as she is biologically able to have them (pre-menopausal). I don't really think it is a good idea for women who are 60 and have already gone through menopause to have kids at that age.
Its totally up to the person, and as long as the age doesnt pose a risk to baby or mother, then it shouldnt matter.
I had always said I wanted to be finished having kids by the time I was 30, and luckily, it worked out that way...but thats just me.
BTW, I know a 61 yo man who has a 37 yo, a 34 yo..... and 3 more, 5, 3, & 1! Now that is definitely too old for me.
42 is waaaay too old to have a child. Uh.....umm.....maybe I should explain.
I was 42 when I had my "surprise" baby & now that I'm nearing 44 & he's nearly 2 y/o....OMG!!! I don't have the stamina to keep up with him! I'm so exhausted by the time my 36 y/o husband gets home from work that I tell DH that my "shift" has ended & now it's his turn!
Honestly, we had hoped to have another one but now that my DS is nearly 2, I am very grateful that it wasn't in God's plan for me to get pregnant again. (Oh, we have an 8 y/o also.)
