How old is too old for customs?

Outside of appliqued t's (which I figure anyone can wear) at what age did you stop with the custom outfits.

We are going to WDW in December-Ds's will be 8 and 5. I was looking at some of the cute overall sets but I'm afraid DS 8 will be to old.

Maybe ask the person that makes them if they could modify it to work for an older boy. Maybe instead of overalls, use a pair of shorts and a shirt?

I'd ask the kid. If they are still interested go for it. You just might have her become more into the choosing etc. As for boys I think would want to stop sooner.

Nobody cares if your kid wears customs. Nobody cares if your kids wear anything (again a general you). The OP asked a question and she got opinions. We all have them. My kids dress alike in WDW because they want to. They wear custom stuff as well. I don't however think an 8 year old boy looks cute in boutique overalls. That is my opinion which the OP asked for. Nobody is telling her what to do. They are simply answering her question.

I wasn't referring to you, but since you directly responded to me, I'll do the same. It is one thing to offer one's opinion. It is entirely another matter to offer judgement and to ridicule a child by saying they look ridiculous. Everyone is free to offer their opinion. I actually read through previous responses. Everything I said is in response to a concern raised or opinion given, and so I offered mine. Apparently to you (general you, of course) my opinion is worth less than yours (again a general you) or apparently offering a different point of view is not to be tolerated.

All I asked is that we respectfully offer opinions and not call children ridiculous. And for what it's worth, you may not care if my kid wears customs, but somebody does- in fact, that's probably why we got so much pixie dust this trip. And I already respectfully voiced my opinion of 8 y/o'ds in overalls fwiw. Like everyone else, I offered my opinion and answered the OP's question.

I am not ridiculing a child. I am stating that any 8 year old boy in boutique overalls is going to look ridiculous much in the same way an 8 year old boy would look ridiculous in a tutu and tiara - unless of course the child wants to wear it which then I support them. Nobody said your opinion was worth less than mine or anyone's. Nobody told the OP what to put her kids in. She asked what age is too old for customs and people told her what they thought.
Perhaps my post was taken wrongly but it was not meant as a slam at any particular child- just the thought of a child that old wearing boutique overalls.

FTR- I have stated that my kids do wear customs on vacation. They even all match each other. I do however make them what they want and age appropriate.
