How old is to old "BOYS" in ladies restroom?

Well, if you have boys and girls using same bathroom.. It's a unisex bathroom!
According to the child they were born in the wrong body. They dress and act as of they are the opposite gender than what they were born. The law doesn't say anyone can use any bath room but says this small subset of the population can use the restroom of the gender that they represent themselves as. You should ask yourself why they felt the need to put these special protections in for this subset of students. Actually you may not even notice a transgendered youth in the bathroom with you because they would look just like anyone else in there. You should do some research about transgender youth before posting.

Fortunately Disney has an age limit on boys being in the female restroom. Apparently you'll be the one sucking it up there. I imagine your son will be just fine.

Can't make everyone happy also applies to helicopter parents.

Y'all are funny! Really.. These are kids. It's a judgement call. I've never seen an age limit and don't believe one exists! I have an autistic grandson and there is no way in hell he is going into a men's restroom alone! As I've said, it is a judgement call but as you can see from these comments, be prepared that all may not share your view but stick to your guns.

Again..it is all about you. Amazing.

And transgender isn't some little whipped boy being emasculated so mommy feels batter. Nice try

But the anatomy is still the same. I don't need to do research but thank you for the recommendation. So, maybe I should just throw a dress over my son and it will make some people feel better. He will then "look" the part and be welcomed! Thank you so much for the idea!!

Apparently you do. The anatomy isn't the issue. The rest of the person is the issue.

Good luck getting your tween non-transgendered son to wear a dress in public. Let us know how that goes down.

Throw a dress on him if you wish, and then take him in the stall with you. And then all will be good. You can keep him safe and everyone else can have their privacy. Everyone wins.

A normal 10 year old boy is already at the age to start going through puberty. Why would a mom want to embarrass her son? I would like to know how a dad would feel having his ten year old girl in the men's. after all some fathers are just trying to " protect " there daughters and can't let them go by themselves into the woman's.

Disney themselves advised a mother in writing that her special needs 10 year old boy was not permitted in the women's restroom and to use a companion restroom. She posted the email in a lengthy thread about this very thing. So again, 10 and up you'll need to work out another way to work around your issues without impeding on the privacy of other ladies in their designated restroom.

if it can help, I just went to Disney with my triplet 7 yo daughter and a toddler. Most often then none, they would go to the bathroom alone. I would wait for them in front of the restroom. most restrooms only have 1 way in and out so there was no way I could miss them KWIM.

since he doesn't want to go with you, I would send him to the restroom right before I went and would get him to wait for you right at the exit of the ladies room which is also right next to the men restroom. I bet you will most likely get out around the same time.

I hope this helps

OP asked what we did. I've said what I do! It's still a judgement call. The law says I am responsible for my child. I do not believe Disney wants to be held responsible for my child going missing because someone said he cannot wait in the foyer area of the ladies restroom. Good luck with your decision! As I've said before, do what you know your child is ready to do. You know, as a good parent, what feels right for you and your child!

That's what the companion restrooms are for, so you can assist your autistic grandson since he can't go by himself, and he can stay in there with you if you have to go.

I actually have taken my daughter in the men's rooms when mom or another female is not with me she is 9yrs old
We take care of our kids as best we can so I really DONT CARE what others think

As to those that say Boo Hooo my kid/kids are embarrassed if they see another kid of the opposite sex in the restroom. We'll guess what when something bad happens to my kid because I cared too much of YOUR feelings I'm sure you will be the first one to pay for my kids counseling (yeah right) and you will be the one to deal with the guilt that I will feel

I have a very close friend that at the age of 8 when his parents finally let him go to the restroom by him self a a** h*** exposed him self to him while pleasuring him self in the restroom. As far as I know that's all that happen but 20yrs later still remembers. I'm sure glad glad my mom forced me (I was embarrassed) to go into the women's restroom till I was 10 and even told a couple ladies off when they would give her the stink eye

Please explain to me how much protection you are able to give your child while you are on the other side of a locked bathroom door. Do you not think someone could expose themselves to your child right there in the bathroom? Taking a male child into a womens restroom won't prevent that from happening. It may just switch the gender up.

The only way to truly protect your child is to take them into the stall with you. Otherwise you are only playing at protecting them. You are giving yourself a false feeling of security, because if bad things can happen that quickly in a mens room, they can happen that quickly in a womens room. And if you are on the other side of a door half undressed doing your business you won't be able to stop it.

I'll never understand why a parent's paranoia about their almost tween child using the bathroom alone trumps the feelings of the persons that belong in the bathroom. Sorry but if you are so scared of the world that you can't let your 8/9 year old child into the proper gender bathroom by themself, maybe you should reconsider taking them out in public until they are older like 16, or maybe try some counseling yourself. :confused3

I completely agree with what you said here, the few times that I have had her use the men's room because she can't hold it any more I'll walk her in and I'll wait outside her stall, when my wife takes our 3yr old son in with her she takes him all the way into the stall

Lmao " try some counseling yourself" this coming from a mother who's quote is "When I drink I find its easier to watch my children because I see all 3 of them double, so all 6 of them of them take all my attention"

Please go have another drink I'm sure you already had 1 by now
