How old for autograph books and epcot passports? I have two ds ages 4 and 2 1/2. Too young for the autograph books? My first instinct is to say yes, but then I think at least the 4 year old might like it?

Opinions?

I think they are at the perfect age (especially the 4 year old). Our children love getting the characters to sign their autograph book then add the photos when we get home. I think the 4 year old will also enjoy the Epcot passport. Most people think of Epcot as more of an adult park - but this is a great think for children to look forward to at each country.

At Epcot they can also do the masks (they get can get a representative cutout at each country. Plus they will write their name in calligraphy in Japan and China.) A little more preschool-friendly (and free!)

I think it also kinda depends on how you feel about standing in line waiting for the characters. I don't like doing that, so I never really encouraged my kids to have autograph books. We have had them when they have asked though, I am not that mean. Anyway, we never did the passport at Epcot either. The kids really liked the masks though and have done them evertime we have gone to Epcot. Some trips they end up with more then 1 cause we go to Epcot on 2 Separate days.

imo i think they will both enjoy it and it might help break the ice w/ the little one getting pics with the characters.

My little one is 2 1/2 and when we went in November we did an autograph book and she LOVED it! We put a coordinating picture with the signatures and she still looks at it now. We are going back the first week of May and I made her another autograph book and a Passport. I figured that way of she isn't into it this time I didn't spend any money. (chaos on the disignboards has some great pages!) But I bet your little ones will have a great time with it.

My younger DS was 21 months on his first trip to WDW and he was great with the autograph book. You just have to make sure you give the pen to the characters that have big costumes. We got the autograph book that holds a picture next to the signature so that he had his own photo album of the trip when we returned.

My girls started having autograph books around 2-2 1/2..they alwyas loved it and got SOOO excited. I don't mind stading in line to see the characters, we are there for the kids, if thats what they want then thats what they get..lol

Thanks so much for all the advice. I think I will just go ahead and make them the autograph books, and then do the masks at Epcot.

Unless you are using the autographs for separate photo albums or scrapbooks, I'd recommend having only one book. Some of those characters take FOREVER to sign. My daughter (now 8) has loved autographs since she was 4. My son (now 6) has always enjoyed the characters, but never gave a hoot about the autographs so having only one book works for us. We have done the World Showcase masks each of our trips and the kids really enjoy them. I'd put off the Passports until your kids are old enough to read what the cast members write, etc. Again, the Passports take a LOT longer than the masks. (Can you tell I'm a bit impatient?)
