...do you talk to your planner either by email or phone? Does your planner ever check-in to see how things are going?

I'm averaging once a month and I always initiate the conversation. I'm curious if this is normal. :confused3

That is normal. Your planner is also working on dozens of other weddings, and the ones that get the most attention are the ones that are happening the soonest. For Wishes weddings, your contact will increase after the 6-month mark when you start getting into specifics and pricing. For Escape weddings, because they are so simple to plan, you might not have much contact until just a month or two before.

I usually initiated contact because I would talk to my fiance (now hubby) about the wedding on the weekends when we were both off. So i would send her these ridiculously long emails on Saturday or Sunday and she would always get back to me by Tues-Weds at the latest.

The 2 months prior to the wedding we had almost everything set and paid for so I really didn't hear from her all that much until the 2 weeks before the wedding, when we woudl usually talk every 4 days. We were working on cards to give the guests for their valet parking and she couldn't get those done until closer to the date they were needed. And we also had a few last minute things we hashed out right before we left to WDW.

But prior to those last few weeks I only heard from her through email and only on the phone when it was something very important or something that was easier done through a phone call bc there was a lot of back and forth.

I had an escape wedding and really did not speak much to my planner. I Always initiated contact and was nervous of how the day would pan out. Luckily, the day went without flaws so don't be worried to much. The few days leading up to the big day she did initiate contact and was excellent

I have a Wishes wedding (10/10/10) and I've had minimal contact. It's always initiated by me and takes awhile to get an answer back. And I had to remind her to send me a final BEO last week so that I could send an accurate final payment. Luckily our planning was pretty easy and we haven't had a lot of questions anyway but I did expect more contact. Oh well. As long as everything goes perfectly on our wedding day then I'm good. :thumbsup2

ditto

we just got our BEO finally, but need revisions and this part is a little difficl=ult for me in the waiting. also considering our minimum payment is due in like 30 days and we do not yet have the final budget. emails don't seem to get anwered fully, although i think that is more an email issue rather than a problem or what not with our planner. i am however having to wait 2 weeks to make an appointment for a phone conversation about the BEO details. i do find that a bit irksome, althoug we are now on central time and i have a job where i cannot converse on the phone during the day. it would seem like it would be the norm to be dealing with brides outside the business hours of DFTW however, so that makes me a bit unhappy...

that said, i think that is pretty normal and i do trust all will work out!

This is us too. I always initiated contact, and it takes about a week or so to get an answer back. I figure that she's busy. I did expect a lot more contact though- I'm glad to hear this seems to be the same with everyone.

The hardest party for me to contact is Rosie. It can take her 2-3 weeks to respond to an email. We just switched planner but the longest we had to wait for a response from either one was about a week.
