How often to you go to Disney World?

I generally try to go at least once a year. Last year was just one trip, but we also did Aulani. This year I'm hoping for 3 times.

Next year we are taking a break from WDW, as we are taking a cruise from Hong Kong to Japan. We do hope to get Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disney in on that trip though :)

Definitly not often enough...22 times in the past 25 years. And lucky enough now to go every year and sometimes 2 times a year:)

At least once a year. This year we're going twice. Probably twice next year too.

Disney is a major part of our lives. We rarely vacation anywhere else. We've only had 3 vacations that were not Disney related).

My husband and I spent our honeymoon(1996) in Disney, but we didn't stay onsite. From then until we bought into the DVC membership (2002), we went a total of 4 times (all staying offsite and visiting other theme parks as well).

In 2002, we booked AKL (for our first onsite stay) and by the end of our 8 night trip, we had purchased DVC points. And went yearly for one week stay afterwards until 2005.

From 2005 to present - we have been going twice a year for 2 weeks each.

My daughter is 9 and if you put all her time at Disney together, she has spent almost 10 mths of her life in Disney!

Just to be clear, when I say Disney, I mean Disney World, Disney Cruises, Aulani and Disneyland.

So between 1996 to present, we have been to Disney 25 times. 18 of which was in the last 9 yrs.

1996-2002 - 4 times (3 offsite, 1 onsite) - 5 weeks total
2003-2004 - 2 times - (DVC villas) - 3 wks total
2005-2013 - 18 times - (DVC villas, 4 DCL, 2wks in Aulani, 1wk in GCV - Disneyland) - 37 wks total

This year, we are going for 2 wks in March (with a 1wk Disney Cruise) and 2 wks in Aug (including our first DVC member cruise - can't wait!)

We are hoping to visit the other Disney parks (such as Tokyo Disney etc) one day.:)

I should hook up your DD with my DS. He is 7 and has been to WDW 24x, 4 cruises, DL twice and Aulani. We joined DVC in '05 and have been AP holders ever since.

DH and I have been 30+ since 1998 and we lived and worked there for a year on the International Program.

We are actually at the stage of "enough" Disney. We went 4x a year when flights were so cheap but now everything costs more and we have really enjoyed our last 2 trips with 10 days in a 1 bedroom, lots more time to relax. We also love the cruises and want to get back to DL again soon.

Two years ago, we thought we were getting into that "too much Disney" phase, but once we went to Aulani and Disneyland for the first time, we decided that we just needed to do more of the different types of Disney. So we are going on our fifth cruise this March, and a members cruise this August in order to "break it up a bit". And hoping to go on Disney Wonder next Aug for an Alaskan Cruise. I think doing different Disney things changes our perspective of Disney. We are also planning different DCL itineraries as well. We can visit different places Disney-style. When the kids are a bit older, we would like to do some Adventures by Disney exotic locations.

We always get the "Aren't you sick of Disney?" question from everyone, but when I explain to them all the different places associated with Disney, they tend to quiet down. We went to Aulani for the first time this past August and it was amazing. I love that Disney goes outside of the theme parks to offer us Disney experiences. I can't wait to try them all.:)

We usually go when they have something new. We're going this fall and the last time we were there was 3 years ago.

We went to Disneyland last year and usually go to Universal every year.

I should have said "enough Disneyworld" We weren't blown away by the new Fantasyland and the upcoming Avatarland does nothing for me.

Now Carsland and the new California Adventure? Amazing!

Since I started visiting WDW in 1975, we've averaged a visit to a Disney park every 18 months. Sometimes more often, sometimes less. In addition to WDW, we've visited Disneyland and Disneyland Paris multiple times, and Tokyo Disney once.

But we have future WDW visits on indefinite hold. Until they manage to institute a reliable reservation system and park wifi system, we will hold off on visiting again. I'm hearing way too many people reporting problems making FP+ reservation and ADRs and attaching them to their MBs at the present time. This so called "testing phase" has been going on for well over a year now, and I'm not seeing any improvement in reliability. I just don't need the headache.

We travel all over the world, and just don't see Disney as a vacation of choice as long as they remain in their current state.

We were very excited about going to Disneyland for the first time. We absolutely loved VGC and it's proximity to both parks. The pool was fine but doesn't compare to our favourite resort pool - SAB. But we didn't "love" DCA or Disneyland. Not sure why, but I suppose our expectations were higher. We even booked the World of Color Dining Package as well as the Fantasmic Dessert Package. Both were fine, but we enjoyed viewing the WoC from the VGC verandah much better.

However, I will agree that Carsland was great but it's such a small area. We rode all the rides there several times on our first day, and when we went back again, we rode each ride once and that was enough for us. By the 3rd visit, we just rode Cars once and walk around. Perhaps a week was too long for 2 parks. But I did like the fact that we always had time to go back to the resort pool (where there were usually only a couple of people there).

We enjoyed our time there, but no one seems to want to go back.

On the other hand, my husband and both kids kept asking when we can go back to Aulani. I booked 2 wks thinking we wouldn't be going back for a long time. I figured that would be enough especially since there are no theme parks. But I guess not.

I'd love to go back to Aulani, however the flight is too long for me. We even broke up the flight a bit. We went to San Diego for a few days before going to Aulani, and on the way back, we went to Disneyland. I figured this would break up the long flight and we'd be okay with it. But it was still a LONG flight. Oh well, Aulani is worth it. So we'll go again soon. :)

We did the same trip in 2012, SD for 3 days (zoo, Sea World, Safari park) 10 days at Aulani and 5 days at DL/DCA. We also had a 7 month old ;) I found it totally bearable and after 30+ trips to WDW we love DL even more in some regards. This was our 5th trip to DL but we hadn't been since before they started all the DCA renos and we were just blown away by the change and improvements. Maybe we would feel the same about WDW if we stayed away for 4 years.

And VGC is our favourite resort (next to Aulani) hands down. DH and I dream of retiring to an Arts & Crafts bungalow.

Aulani is on the list for 2016 again :)

Unfortunately, with all our vacations already booked for 2014 and planned for 2015 and the fact that a 2wk stay at Aulani requires ALOT of points (so likely only a studio for us), we have to wait until 2016 as well. Perhaps, we'll see you there!:)

Maybe. We went in june and loved it. We may try for then again. We have 300 and we need like 450 so having got some point saving to do as well.

We went in August last year and I enjoyed it. But then again, I'm okay with little to no waves. My family wants to go during the winter months so we can see the tall waves at North Shore. My son enjoyed surfing, but waves were quite tame (which I was quite happy about!). We also went on the Catamaran (the one on the Aulani's beach) which was smooth. I think it would have been a rougher ride if we had gone in the winter. So, I'm good with August.

Regarding points, I envy those who can save points. We are in constant borrowing mode. In 12 yrs of membership, I don't think I have ever just used my current use year's points. I once thought that if I keep adding on, I will eventually be able to bank points. I started with 150pt and since then we have added 375pts - but add ons didn't seem to change this pattern. I just used more points. :lmao: (I need help.)

This will be a first. We are already in the hole. No points at all until Aug 2014 and even those will have to be borrowed from 2015. For Aulani we need the extra 24 as well .

We try to go every 6-9 months, but airfare is gone up so much. We've been lots I've lost count. But then I did a ABD trip to DL. I LOVED DL. So were trying to mix it up a bit. I love WDW but we want to expand our palette so to speak. I'm going back to DL with my DSister and have a cruise planned with DH and kids and I think we will all go to DL after that. So it might not be till 2016/17 we go back to wdw. But then again that could change...

Wow! And here I thought I was bad visiting WDW too often :rotfl2:

Since my first ever visit to WDW on Nov. 2010 at the age of 40 (yes, you read right 40) I was hooked. Since then I have visited WDW 7 times with another split visit between DCL on the Dream and WDW this coming November.

Last year alone I visited 3 times that in our upcoming trip we are seriously considering looking into a DVC membership. We'll see :beach:

last year we went twice.. once for our honeymoon and again 8 months later for Christmas

but our next time will not be till 2016 since we just had a baby and want to wait till he is almost 2 to go back to florida..

but in the mean time we may do a trip for Disneyland
