How often should I check for cash discount availability?

We have current reservations for September using a combination of points for weeknights and cash for weekend nights. This is for a 2BR. It wasn't available with the member cash discount, just rack rate. We are hoping that the member discount becomes available of course. How often should I check if this becomes available? They don't apply this automatically, do they?

Or is the better question -- Are there ever cash discounts for 2BR dedicated villas at VWL? We don't really care if it is dedicated or lockoff, although I think that is what they had available for that week.

We had the question recently for a 2-br at Vero Beach, and the CM at MS suggested calling weekly.

Just be sure that both reservations are for the same type of room. If you book points dedicated and cash lock-off, you will have to move.

I'd check back at least once a week if not more. We do the points/cash switch for weekends as well. I've never quite understood what triggers cash nights being in or out of the member discount pool. All I know is that one day they don't have them and then suddenly the next day they do. In 15 years of doing this I can only recall one cash night that I wasn't able to get a member discount on.
