How often does SWA change fares? They are having a sale that ends tomorrow and the one way fare went up $24 to 124. Is there any chance it will go down again tomorrow. Should I wait?:confused3

They will allocate x number of seats at certain sale prices, once those are gone, it will revert to their 'normal' pricing. They could go down, or maybe a DING will come out, but you never know.

I guess what I'm getting at, is you may have waited too long..

We are leaving 1/29 and coming back 2/7. Do you think I should book now at 124 each direction or do you think I have some wiggle room to wait. I will not hold anyone responsible, just looking for some gut feelings. ;)TIA!

You'll pretty much get this response from most. "If the price of the seats is acceptable to you, and you think it's fair to get you from point a to point b, buy them". Playing the 'fare drop' game is really a lot like playing 21 :). Sometimes you get 21, sometimes you bust. I dont even know where you are flying out of, so that will have something to do with it also.

edit: and if you havent signed up for DING from the SW site yet, make sure you do and set it up..

We are flying out of Albany, NY. I usually go over on Black Jack, so maybe I just better buy the tickets. Thanks!

I'd go ahead and book. Of course, with Southwest, keep looking at the fares after you book and take the credit at no charge if the price goes down.

Deals out of Albany have been more of a scarcity lately, especially for Friday and Sunday flights. I consider myself extremely lucky that my Wednesday flight home (11/11) went down to $99 for ONE DAY. I snapped it up and it was never lower than $109 or $124 after that. The first nonstop Friday flight down (11/6) never went below $124 IIRC and actually went up steadily while the earlier flight through BWI went down. I think I finally snagged the flight with the stop for $124.

I checked Thursday flights, willing to add a day on at either end, but those fares were no better.

Good luck with your fare shopping!
