How often does ROTR break down? Chances I'll be able to ride if have a 6pm ILL?

We've never been on ROTR and I want to make sure we ride it! If we have an evening ILL time, like 6pm, are the odds good with still riding? I seem to remember it breaks down/closes a lot and wasn't sure if they close it early frequently.

It breaks down often but there's no way to tell if you'll be able to ride as it breaks down at various times. When we were there one day it was closed all evening and never reopened. Yesterday it was late opening.

The later in the day your ILL$ is for, the more opportunity there is for it to break down but as long as you get in line once it opens, you will be able to ride if it stays up.

We had a ILL for 6 pm one evening during Thanksgiving week. We arrived and it had broken down but luckily we stuck around the area and it came back up in an hour. We heard it was the second time that day.

What does Disney do if you have a late ILL$ like ROTR and it breaks down for the rest of the day? Refund? A pass for another day?

No way of knowing. However, if it breaks down and you have an ILL$, you will ride it before those waiting in stand by.
