I think this section of this message board is very helpful. I am just wondering how many people here like to travel alone and where you all like to go. I work for a mobile nursing agency so I have been alone in a number of cities and find that people are often friendlier to me when I am by myself, perhaps because a young woman ( I'm 23) by herself is so nonthreatening.

Do you think that people who go to Disney theme parks solo are really that different from others in our interests once we arrive in the parks? Just wondering.

Let's see, ignoring my business trips, I have been to Ireland (small tour plus time on my own) and Italy (small tour) solo. I also have a trip to Yellowstone planned solo for this September.

I'm also in the medical field and travel for work all over so most everything I do,I do solo! Down where I'm working now I go to concerts, music festivals, casinos, movies, dine...everything...it's actually a treat to have company to do things with someone else! So all I can say is...if you have a desire to do something...don't let being solo stop you!:cool1:

Wow, I really admire having the courage to go to Yellowstone alone! DH and I are going there next month and I just can't imagine being out hiking in the woods alone. The only place I've been solo is WDW, about 9 times (# 10 in December).

Actually, I probably won't be doing a lot of hiking because I am alone. I will be bring my photography gear and taking lots!!!!!!!!!!!! of pictures and hiking the short well traveled trails.

I travel solo for work a lot. Mostly to DFW, LAX and a few other cities. My schedule doesn't always coincide with DF's, so on occasion I will find myself alone in a vacation destination before he arrives or after he leaves. I once spent 4 days in Paris waiting (ok, not really waiting, but alone) for him to catch a standby flight. I loved it. I spent all day in the museums without worrying if he was bored. Really more my thing than his. When he did finally arrive, we immediately hopped a train to the Cote D'Azur to spend time on the beach. I love a few days to myself... no matter where I go!

:cutie:

I have never traveled alone. I will be, sort of, in July. I'm going to Vegas for a friend's wedding. While I'll be with friends some of the time, I will be flying out there alone and I have my own room. I'll be doing some things on my own, I'm sure. I think this will be a nice way to ease into solo trips. If all goes well, perhaps I'll think about a solo Disney trip.
