Interesting. I don't feel compelled to avoid the contact either--it just doesn't occur to me. Maybe it is because we have been a couple since long before cell phones were around to allow us to be in constant communication so we never got into that habit. Our early dating years were while we were both in college. We mostly saw each other after classes (in the evenings) and on weekends but rarely had the opportunity to see one another during the day time (different classes in different departments)--so it is what we have been used to (communicating in the evenings and on weekends/vacations) since we were teens![]()
We're in the same boat as you. We've never been "cell phone" people. I'm a computer/internet guy, who loves technology, but the whole texting thing is more irritating to me than anything else.
I give DW a kiss good-bye in the morning, and off to work I go. She goes to work, and then, at 5pm we reconvene at the house to play with the kids and enjoy the rest of the evening together. As you said earlier, I really don't feel that I'd need to say "hello" to her throughout the day. She needs to concentrate on her work for 8 hours/day, and I need to concentrate on mine.
