How Often do you Go?

This probably belongs in the TPAS forum, but in my reasoning it belonged more here, so here it is. Feel free it move it if it's deemed necessary.

Anyway, onto my question. How often do you and your family go to WDW? I know plenty of people here go once a year, sometimes even more! Ideally, I'd like to go once a year with my younger cousin, however, how do people go once every year and not be bored? That's the only part about it I don't get.

I mean, sure, I'd love to go once a year. I'm super-excited for my next trip, which is a year after my last one. But just curious, how often do you go? Is once a year worth it for those who frequent the World that often?

We have been going once a year and have not gotten bored yet. The key is that we know we will be back and we do different things each trip. We also love the atmosphere so it's not just about rides and shows the whole time. We play mini golf, try new restaurants, have rented boats, bikes and water sprites., etc... We also go to other locations on some trips. We have done a day at Universal, Seaworld, Gatorland, etc.... this breaks it up some. Most of all is that we just enjoy being there.

We go every May and late oct/early Nov.Each trip is 12-15 nights each. We have never been bored not for a second. There is so much to do or just lay around and relax. New things to try. Old places to visit again etc....

We are sort of on an every other year schedule now, subject to change! We went in November of 2008 and 2009- our shortest interval. Several times during that 2009 trip, I felt like, "Didn't we just do this?"

Also, after a few trips, DD14 had the itch to go other places. We agreed to do other vacations every other year. We did Wisconsin Dells, Branson, and California, and now she's more than ready to go back to WDW.

DH would gladly go every year because it's a vacation where he doesn't have to drive or navigate.

So now we haven't been to WDW since 2011. Since we went to Disneyland and San Diego this summer, 2013 was a Disney year and 2014 should be an "other vacation" year. But the way the family is talking, if we take a vacation in 2014 it will be WDW. Since it's been two years they are homesick for it, and 3 days at Disneyland honestly didn't make us feel like it was a Disney year.

We would love to go every year but for us it's every 4/5 years :'(

Same here... last time I was there, I was 6 months pregnant with my now 4-year-old son. It will be 4-1/2 years between trips. I do not expect to go back to Disney for another 4 years (prob when DS is 8).

We go once or twice a year we drive from Ontario Canada to either buffalo or Detroit and fly from there

We have been to Walt Disney World 12 times in the last 5 years with our kids (+ 1 trip to DL). We generally stay 7-10 nights - sometimes 2 weeks. We have 3 more trips planned this year (end of Sept for MNSSHP, November for Thanksgiving, and then 2 weeks Christmas through New Years). Granted we are all HUGE Disney fans but we have NEVER been bored once even after all these trips!
There is just so much to do! There are plenty of things we haven't even done yet. There are so many things to do at the different resorts (and we stay at lots of different resorts to try new things), Downtown Disney, Water Parks, not to mention the 4 parks and all the restaurants.
My youngest is not quite 4 and he loves to ride so many things (now that he's passed that 40" milestone!). Since he's been coming his whole life he isn't afraid of anything. He's actually getting really anxious to be able to ride Rock N Roller coaster!
We also have a 14 year old special needs daughter who absolutely thrives at Walt Disney World! She is sooo happy when we are there. Her favorite place for sure!
As other people mentioned your kids are different every time you go and so are your experiences.

Between 2002 and 2011, we went 5 times (plus a trip to DL in 2013), so it averages out to every other year, although in actuality, that's not how it worked. :)

We first took our boys when they were 3. I wanted it to be a yearly event. We went 2 years in a row, but the money was not there for us to go last year. This year we have been blessed with and were given a trip by a family member! Totally last minute planning, well we're going in November and to me that is last minute for Disney. I hope this is the start of yearly trips.

We've gone once a year for the past few years. It's not easy. We scrimp and save. But a WDW vacation means so much to our family, esp. while my girls are young (they are 6 & 8 now). WDW is the one place where all the troubles just melt away and we're so happy to just be there. It's magical! And planning the trips gives me something to look forward to. I don't think we could get bored. It's the one time each year we can ride all our favorite rides, eat at all our favorite restaurants, and just soak up the magic that is Disney.

We have gone every 9-15 months since 2009 on average. We go for 10-11 days at a time. :goodvibes

We haven't found ourselves bored at all. We look forward to our vacation time because its the only big vacation we take per year.

No sooner than we are back from one trip, we have another booked and we just figure out the cost and make monthly payments to Disney to get it paid off before arrival.

This year, I'm going twice! We were there as a family in April but then a couple of weeks after our return, DH surprised me with a food & wine and MNSSHP trip with my best friend as a Mother's Day present!! So, I'm heading down in 20 days!

Our next family trip is in August next year, which is actually 16 months from our April trip. I hope the kids will make it! :rotfl2:

We go once a year now. After our first trip, our plan was to go every second year, but when I went back to work I changed our plan to every year :)

If we didn't live so far away I would be there all the time!

Living in Wisconsin definitely doesn't help going to Disney...too far! But then again I'm going again in April of this year, and I went in April of last year, and I already feel like it has been too long since I've been to Disney.

We are originally from Wisconsin and we tried to go every other year. But, DH took a job in Florida this spring so we bought APs and have been going down for a weekend every month so far. I feel kind of spoiled being within a couple hours but I do miss the two week trips. It definitely felt like more of a vacation and was much more relaxing on those trips.

In an ideal world I would love to go every year and experience the different seasons at Disney - fall for F&W/MNSSHP, Christmas for the decorations/MVMCP, spring for F&G, etc; but flying six (soon to be seven) of us down to Florida from PA is the cost of a vacation within itself  and DH refuses to endure a 16-17 hour drive even if we split it up into two days. Also, considering the cost of park tickets for all of us and so on, we just wouldn't be able to swing a Disney trip every year. So far we've been able to do two family WDW trips within two years. Our first family trip was in August 2011 and our second trip was in May of this year, so it seems like going every other year has been working for us. However, we have a new baby on the way so we are considering doing a short trip next year in the fall when the baby is around 9 months old then going back for a big trip when she is 2.5 years old or just continue with our every other year pattern and waiting until she is between 16-18 months old to go on our next trip. If we lived closer I could definitely see us going more often. We love Disney
