How often do you go to Disney?

I've been back for almost a month now from my WDW trip and I'm desperate to go again. I think this is just part of the 'withdrawal' process but it's tough! While missing it terribly, I cannot complain, I am returning in December for a few days at the parks as part of a family vacation we're taking to different locations in Florida.

What I'd like to know from other folks (and particularly those who are not Orlando or DLR locals), is how often do you go and what do you find to be a good length of time between trips before anyone is allowed to play the "I'm bored"/"we've done this so many times" card?

After December, I am planning to hold back until either October 2018 for Disneyland (I've always wanted to go for halloween) or January 2019 for WDW (Dopey Challenge). I'm not so sure I can last that long though :worried:.

Thoughts appreciated, wishing you a great week.

I live in AZ.
We alternate years between WDW and DLR. Go 3-4 times a year.
Spend (usually) 2 weeks at WDW and 6 days at DLR

Well, I hadn't been in 28 years when we went in 2014 and now we're going again this year. 8 nights each time, all due the generosity of my sister-in-law.

We are also planning a trip to Disneyland in 2019 with my whole family. My mom and I haven't been there since I was 8 years old. And since Magic Kingdom and I were born in the same year, we will celebrate our 50th together in 2021.

I love Disney, but I love traveling all sorts of places. We have a few European trips to knock out, friends to visit in Japan and more US states to explore. Plus, I go home to Boston at least once a year.

I have been filling the last almost two years with tons of YouTube Disney videos whenever I feel in need of a pick-me-up. I started my first ever pre-trip report and am very much looking forward to FP+ reservation time.

Last year went 6 times.

3 quick weekend trips (no kids 2 with DH one with good friend Jan, April, Oct)
1 week family trip (thanksgiving)
1 longer trip with just DH (June)
Also 1 with family on the way to the beach (just 2 nights March)

We live in Indiana. Also live close to an allegiant air airport where we get super cheap flights for weekend trips.

I've been averaging once a year for the past 15 years now. 45 trips since 1983 all toll. Most of those 33 years I lived in Vermont. I now live in North Carolina for the last 5 years, but, have found no real urge to change the once a year habit.

It's a long time in between trips for us. Our next trip is in hopefully Aug this year to WDW, but we haven't been to either parks since 2013 due to financial restraints. I am planning a solo trip to DL in May/17, but this will be the last trip for the family. The kids are getting older and our next family trip we want to do a cruise to Alaska.

We go as often as possible. At least once a year and we tend to stay 10-14 days. I'm going back in March and that will be my third trip in a year. We don't feel any need to be in the parks every day after being there so many times. We are happy to enjoy the resort, DTD and a day or two in the parks.

We have made Disney an annual trip since having children. I'm ready to go back after being home four months usually lol. in September 2014 we went to DLR and after we got home I really missed WDW even though we had a great time in California so went to WDW in April 2015. Like my DH says I have Disney fever, bad and I'm also an addict :jumping1:

Depends... are you asking specifically about WDW & DLR...? Or do cruises count? I'm in Oregon - it is MUCH more affordable for us to bop down to California vs. WDW as far as airfare and hotels go.

If just the parks, I went to DLR yearly as a kid then went on hiatus from about 2000-2008 while I was in college and getting my career together. At the time my father was bored to TEARS at doing it every year but it was what my mother wanted. I really laid it on thick too - I loved going right before the school year started and by the time I was a month or two into summer and properly bored I started begging him too. Poor man didn't have a chance..!

In 2008 I went to WDW for the first time with my brother, then started visiting every 18 months or so, sometimes with my boyfriend (now husband). He thought it was too often to be honest even though some of those were with my parents instead.

My husband got me started on running 5Ks in 2010 which turned into half marathons so we were averaging 2-3x a year between both coasts due to races (only partly an excuse..!) There were two years that it made financial sense for me to get the Premier Passport since we were going so much..! I think the most I did was 2x to WDW and 2x to DLR in the same AP period. I did not get bored. My husband wondered if he made a mistake... ;) I tried to make one solo trip, but he ended up joining me for half of it at the last minute. Sadly I think going so often is off the table for me now - he just doesn't like me running off alone even though the heat and rush really gets to him quickly. Plus...

..my husband broke his toe back in Aug 2014 which sadly put a stop to races. We actually went three times last year (2x weekend trips to DLR and 1x to WDW) but only did WDW since I won a trip, and one of the DLR visits was to use up an airline refund that was going to expire. This year we are only going to WDW for a long Food & Wine weekend (his favorite and I like it too). My husband is still having toe issues but he REALLY wanted to do the DLR half, but there is so much under construction as well that we gritted our teeth and are staying away from it for 2016.

I honestly am not sure how much that adds up to, lol! There are cruises and trips to Euro Disney and Tokyo Disneyland & Sea in there as well.

Personally, I have found that is long as we also do other things then it works out great to go every year or so for each park. The years we were doing races and blowing our vacation budget on only Disney were really grating to my husband. My Dad's main argument when I was a kid was that we were going to Disney at the expense of everything else. It was ALWAYS a week at the beach and a week at DLR. He wanted to see other stuff too but my Mom would never agree. Now, last year even though we went 3x to parks we did a bunch of other trips too - one of the DLR trips included stops in San Fransisco & San Deigo, we also stopped at some wineries in Glen Ellen on the way home. We went to Europe in September, tried an RCCL cruise, and I think it has made all the difference. He is excited to go back to WDW in September even though we were "just" there is October and is really excited to get back on DCL in May now that we were just on RCCL. Variety is the spice of life, even if Disney is one of my favorites! :D

I went last April, this past January, and going again in May. There was a huge stretch of not going: 3 years. I missed it so much!!

We have gone at least twice a year, sometimes three times for the last 8 years. Before that it was once very couple of years. We would go more now time/budget allowed...

I started going in 2014, and wound up going back a month after my first trip. I went to WDW twice last year, and also went to DL. This year I'm heading to WDW, and possibly back to DL for Dapper Day. I'm averaging about twice a year, which I'm totally ok with!

We go once a year. If we lived closer than Northern Ontario we would go more often.
We started out going a week, now we do 12 nights. I would stay longer if we didn't have jobs and vacation time limits ;)
We don't get bored since there are still things we haven't done/seen.
I spend the year between trips planning, which helps with the withdrawals :)

We're trying for every few years...when we lived in the UK it was easier (and cheaper), but now we live in New Zealand and the distance is much greater, along with the price!

Since I am just starting the WDW traditions with my own family we went last year with our 1yo and will go again this year because he will be free. Then after that waiting til he is older to remember (and prices allowed) try for every 3-4 years.

I'm in Ohio and my record is 5 WDW trips in 10 months! It wasn't always like that though. I've gone just about every year of my life and didn't start going more than once a year until more recently. Our trips vary in length from a week to 10 days, although I have stayed for as few as 2 nights on short trips.

I'm in So Cal and very close to DL/DCA and have AP's. We go as often as we can. We did our first WDW trip in 2009, took me 6 years to get dh to agree to going back in May 2015 and we are currently planning our next trip in May 2017!

We live in CT. We have gone 3-4 times per year for the last few years. We are kinda bored with the "just the immediate family week long random trip". However, we enjoy letting the kids bring friends/cousins, etc. Also, we are now planning some short trips just for marathon weekends.
