How often do you go shopping? Are you like your Family when it comes to shopping?

For me its-

Grocery Store - Twice a month. Used to be once every month when I was eating out every meal.

Mall/Clothing stores - Once every 2 or three months and I'll maybe buy one thing at a mall. Then maybe once a year I do a big purchase of several bottoms and tops from online. (I hate spending time looking for things.) I never buy anything besides clothing at the mall.

Book Store - Once a month for a few books and or catalogs.

Big box stores - Only about once a month now or once every two months. I don't buy much there anymore expect TP, makeup, etc.

Hair Salon- once every 3 or 4 months



For family I'm using a close cousin -

Grocery Store - 3-5X a week

Mall - Several times a week (3 is the usual) or at least once a week. She will buy at least 2 whole outfits a week.

Book Store - Never!

Big box stores - She dislikes anything that doesn't carry brand names and only shops at places like William Sonoma for basics.

Hair Salon- Once every 2 weeks



Even though we grew up like really close sisters we are just so different when it comes to our shopping styles! She actually started talking about all this today and I never really thought about it. We make almost the same thing and yet even she say's she Spends spends spends and can't stop her lifestyle We used to be like the same person up until we hit our 20's. I guess then she realized she needed to be different

My parents, I kid you not, spent almost everyday in the grocery store. They were bored, so they'd hop from store to store. I hated shopping with them and I don't really enjoy shopping now. But I guess in a way that's good since it saves me lots of money .

I'm probably a little odd but I really dislike most shopping.

Grocery store, once or twice a week depending on when we run out of things.

Farmer's market, once a week during the season.

Drugstore, two or three times a month depending on the sales.

Big boxes, maybe once a month, sometimes less.

Mall/clothing stores, once a year on Black Friday for our "girls day" tradition.

Hair salon, never.

The bookstore is my big weakness - I trade in books at the used bookstore in two 2-3 times a week when it is warm enough to walk, and order from BN.com about once a month.

Grocery 2x a week. We eat a lot of fresher things so have to make runs to store.

Clothes shopping. Hardly ever. I like to get tshirts when we hit Disney which is almost every month. Otherwise I shop online at ColdWater Creek. Shoes same online like Zappos.

Never go to big box stores but looking into getting Costco membership.

Hair salon every 5wks. I have a short all one length bob haircut and anything past 5wks feels like its long and unruley.

My parents aren't big shoppers although my dad could get lost in Lowes or Home Depot. My Aunt on the other hand. Good grief. Last time we were up visiting her she spent over an hour in Chicos. We had already checked out most of the outlet stores while she was still busy shopping and trying on things haha.

My mom HATES shopping! She goes to the grocery store twice a month and other stores as necessary. I on the other hand LOVE to shop! I got it from my grandma! Honestly I could spend hours in the grocery store. I now go grocery shopping once a week and have DH pick up an extra gallon of milk on his way home from work another day. I now try to avoid the mall and other stores. My bank account has thanked me for it! There is a used book store less than 20 miles from me that I consider heaven. It is a huge!!! It has TONS of books. When I was pregnant with #2 I was there about once a week. I haven't been since my last trimester. I miss it!

food shopping is probably what we do the most. My dh is Portugese so he has a more European style of eating where you pick up items for dinner fresh almost every day.

Clothe shopping is probably 4-5 times a year. We'll shop once for each season if new clothes are needed.

hair salon. 2x's a month. I have a short pixie cut (a la Halle Berry) and it needs trims to keep the cut.

bookstore. probably once a year. we are amazon shoppers.

I do go to other stores though. I'm starting to scrap book so I've been running to ac moore and michaels alot. Also target once a week.

Grocery Store - Average once a week. Some weeks it is more, other times I go 2 or 3 weeks between visits.

Mall/Clothing stores - Maybe 3 times a year. Definitely at Christmas and again in the spring, but other than that, only if I need a gift that I can't get elsewhere.

Book Store - couple of times a year. I use the library or buy online.

Big box stores - target, every other week for TP, dog food, laundry detergent, etc.

Hair Salon- every 6 weeks or those roots look really bad.

My mom goes to the grocery store more often than I do, but she tends to just buy what she needs and passes it every day on her way home from work.

Mall - Maybe once a month. Mostly to get my dad out of the house.

Book Store - Rarely. Like me, she's a big fan of the public library.

Big box stores - Like me, Target maybe a couple of times a month for TP, laundry detergent, etc.

Hair Salon- Never, since she decided to let her gray come in.

Online is a constant thing... (every day) I am not always buying stuff, I just like to look and watch prices and watch for great deals.

Big Box stores...maybe once or twice a year, never end up buying much.

Walmart/Supermarket...about once a week, sometimes I'll stretch it to 2 weeks if the weather is bad on the weekend or something.

Mall...every couple weeks or so

Hair Salon... every few months

Oh god, I look awful compared to you guys!!

Grocery shopping -- every 2 weeks

Mall -- every 2-3 weeks

Big box store -- 1-2x a week

Book store -- once every 2 months (I buy a lot of books @ used book sales & swaps so I have a stack to catch up on... other than that, I do the library)

Hair salon -- never (I have a beautician friend cut my hair at my house & my mom maintains her beauticians license so we go to a supply shop once every 3 months)

This winter with all the crappy weather, DD & I got soooo stir crazy. We would hit the mall, the grocery store or the big box stores 4-5 times a week just to get out of the house & walk around. I'm pretty budget-minded though so the mall was purely window shopping (unless I had a good coupon) and most of our big box trips were for necessities that I used coupons on. I just spread them waaaaaay out, lol.

-mall: once or twice a year, and that is under protest
-sam's club: once every 2 months to stock up on meat
-bookstore: never, i get my books from the library on my nook or free from bn.com
-salon: once or twice per year. i got my hair colored, highlighted and cut in september, 2010, and have been doing the roots at home ever since.

Grocery: At least once a week, multiple stores. I coupon and ere are two good stores close to my house, I just do a circle to hit them both on one trip.

Mall/Clothing: Once a month, mostly in the winter to walk with my boys. I go clothes shopping probably every 2-3 months and buy several pieces to get me by for awhile.

Big-Box: MAYBE once every two months. If I read about a good deal, I will go if I can fit it in. Walmart is a 15 minute drive while the two grocery stores and a CVS and Rite Aid are only a few minutes. I do use their site-to-store, though... Just ordered a play house for DS1 & saved $70 by shipping it to the store. First time I'd been in Walmart in months!

Book Store: Rarely! Usually only ever pre-vacations, if I'm on my own or on date night with my DH. I'm not comfortable taking my noisy boys in! Plus I have an iPad & Kindle so rarely buy hard copies.

Hair Salons: Maybe 2x a year. I go to Mastercuts, but I know my boys wouldn't sit still long enough so it's whenever DH and I are at the mall together and they're not busy.
