How often do you get a new computer???

We've had this one since 09/99, and I've been griping about it more and more.

It freezes up at any given time, it resets itself for no reason, and it's crashed 3 times in the last 5-6 months.

I will replace it pretty soon (I think), I just need a Round Tuit.

I got this desktop 3 years ago. Bought a laptop 2 years ago - about 3 months after it was out of warranty it went up in smoke (literally). So I bought a new laptop last summer. I'll probably get a new desktop next year.

we get a new one every time lightening frys what we have,,lol.. the first one lightening got after 4 years the second after a year, this ones just under a year old and already been upgraded after lightning got into it a few months ago

About every 2 years just to upgrade the components. The entire system probably every 4-5 years.

In the ideal world, DH and I would love to upgrade every year but until we win the lottery it ain't happenin'!

The laptop is 2.5 years old, but still the fastest computer we have.
It's a Compaq, 1 GHz, 512MB RAM, 30 GB hard drive. DD has a gateway that's 3 years old and it needs replaced, we are having issues with it. We also have another Compaq desktop that's also 3 years old that we rarely use.

We replace ours about every 3 to 4 years. This one here is 11 months old.
