How often do you check the WDW website when searching for an ADR?

This is a bit extreme.

I wrote a computer program to check 4 times per hour, I run it in the background at work while the work computer is on, and I run it when I get home at my home computer, every day since 4/12
:worship:
You are my hero.

Every day!! Sometimes multiple times a day. Madness really..pure and simple madness. But I enjoy it.

I had great luck during my initial booking, but have now decided to try for a PPO BOG ADR PDQ IYKWIM LOL. While I know that I should just relax and let res finder work, I'm also checking the app a half dozen times a day. It's not even a big deal to me if I get it as I already have a BOG lunch booked, but I kind of like the game of hunting for it.

I check at least once a day. I must say this is getting very tiring. I finally decided on resorts and planning my daily lineup is kinda taking the whole fun out of the disney magic. I hate to sound like a broken record but in the past, life was much easier to book hotel ressies and dining ressies. I stared going to wdw in 1995 and loved it beyond. There was no magic bands, no rushing to get ADR's. you just showed up at restaurant and you usually got in within 30 minutes. It is starting to get on my nerves. I think of all the people who are visiting for the first time and have no idea they have to book 180 days in advance to get what they want. I think this whole process is getting out of hand.
Personally I would rather see no reservations allowed.
Thankfully my last 3 days this trip are at WLV... I think I am going to bring food in and just eat inside villa to avoid this craziness

Also have my dinning reservations for Thanksgiving, but I'm not too happy with our times (and I want BOG for lunch for thanksgiving) so I check a few times a day

Same here, got my initial ADRs, but wanted to get better times, I'm moving my ADRs hour by hour at the moment, slowly crawling towards the exact times I wanted, hopefully when I leave for my trip, all my ADRs will be the exact times I want

This is the best thing ever in regards to ADRs IMO. Today my DS decided he wanted to go to Disney with us in Sept. so I had to make and ADR for our traditional first day dinner is at CM, the ADR I made was at 9:25PM, really too late. I put in my request on the Reservation finder on touringplans for CM at 7:30PM, about 2 hours later I got a text that they there was an 8:05 available-close enough! I've had luck with BOG, Crystal Palace-PPO, and Tusker House-PPO. My trip is in early September, but that is also a free dining time.

Way way to much!! I have everything I really wanted for our trip the end of this week but still find myself checking just in case something else "good" opens up...

I knew I had a problem when I was rolling over in bed at 3am and grabbing my phone from a sound sleep to check for a BOG opening....but low and behold I got dinner and lunch! LOL I'm going to be very bored after next week! :upsidedow

This is why DIS boards are great. To know I'm not a total annomally :rolleyes1 as DBF calls it lol. Sometimes I worry I will get bored waiting for our September trip once I get everything I am hoping for! So far, finally managed to snag Ohana at 8:20 instead of the after 9:30 ressies I've had :yay:

I tend to check more often at working since I'm sitting in front of a computer, but will def check whenever it comes to mind, just to see, which seems to be often :rolleyes1 also belong to the camp of "hunting" for something better in that it is somewhat of the game/challenge that makes "fun".

I've had great success with Touring Plans and would for sure subscribe for their service if I needed something like LTT on Thanksgiving. Touring Plans found me that elusive BOG at 4:45 before a Halloween party. Highly recommend.

Like others, I look multiple times a day. I mostly look on my phone whenever I think about it. I tried the TP dining finder and so far I haven't found it very useful. I'm obviously in the minority, but twice I was able to find what I wanted on my own and never got a text from TP. I even went back to verify my TP searches were active and they were. I still have it searching for a BOG, so I guess I'll see if that one works out since that seems to be the ADR most people say TP has found for them.

I'm joining the group here, starting to look every day.

At our 180 days, I couldn't get the one ADR that I wanted.

I really don't want to spend our 25th Anniversary eating at our 4th or 5th choice.

That reservation finder posted above has changed my obsession a bit. I've gotten 4 of my 6 "wants" for a September trip just by getting a text from the reservation finder. I'm hoping the elusive BOG and Chef Mickey show up at some point, too!

I pretty much check when I can and remember if I am looking for something. I am in front of the computer so I might as well take the 5 mins and check to see if something can available.

Usually 2-3 times a day. I have good luck getting what I want that way - persistence pays off!

Don't worry, you won't get "bored", once your ADRs are "done" then it's time to move onto your FP+ and your monthly check of park hours change and EMH, plus daily checks to see if Disney will announce any PPO or after hours events, or open or close any attractions you want to go on, etc, etc

I'm on my "break" at the moment as I'm halfway between my 180 ADR day and 60 FP+ day, but I'll need to "jump back onto it" soon.

Agree, it's 100% enjoyable for me too

Yay! I love that. i was able to find BOG for a time I liked better, so offered it on the cancellation board. Love when I can help someone else, too!
My DH chuckles at me when I get all giddy about finding a good ADR, but he also reaps the benefit when he gets a meal he loves.

I'm kind of in that "break" period at the moment as well. I'm happy with what I have so far, but simply checking to try and get "better times". Less than 4 months to go until our end of Sept trip, but still not quite time for FPs just yet. Have also been monitoring park hours, but other than AK, seems like most are set for Sept. now. Definitely disappointed about the news of Dinosaur and BTMRR, though...

Exactly! I definitely plan to do the same if and when I can get a more ideal time! All about paying it forward! :flower1:

Well, I think I'm about to become even more obsessive. It is crazy (but totally understandable!) how quickly an ADR can pop up and then disappear. Last night while searching for reservations on Thanksgiving Day, an ADR at both CRT and O'hana popped up. A minute later, they were both gone. This morning I received an email alert from touring plans about an available ADR. I checked the WDW website five minutes after the email alert was sent and the time was gone. I enjoy looking. I've been at it for less than a week. I actually like having a legitimate excuse for being on the WDW website. Hopefully I'll get lucky one day soon!
