How Not To Do Disney With A One Year Old - Update 4/17

You know I am here...I love train wrecks...but mostly I just love that little guys face!

I am here :woohoo:

I am glad the ride down went well and that you had a great dis meet

Alex is so cute of course

:goodvibes

Your little man is so cute. Looking forward to hearing the details...good, bad, and ugly!

For better or for worse, I'm in! I still feel so bad (and a little guilty!) that y'all didn't have the same great experience we did. Getting sick on vacation is just the pits. Working around kids all my life I have a pretty tough immune system, so hopefully Paxton inherited my immunity and not his dads because I swear, DH catches everything!!

I'm glad he was so well behaved on the ride down. How long of a drive is it for y'all? It's nice that it doesn't seem to be too far. 13 hours is just waaaaaay too long for us to ever consider driving at least not until DS is quite a bit older and able to entertain himself better for long car trips!

I'm sorry the trip didn't end up being all you hoped it would... sometimes those things just happen. I just hope it doesn't ruin the Disney experience in the future for you guys.

It looks like a good start anyway. Love the "wrestling with Mickey" pictures.:thumbsup2

Joining in, we're bringing our daughter when she'll be 19 months. Now I'm a little worried. Can't wait to hear about it, that way it'll prepare me for the worst.

:welcome: Aww don't be worried. Most people have a great time with their LO's on their trips. We just have bad luck  but yeah, hopefully you'll get some tips on things to avoid on your trip.

I'm subscribed! We will be bring our two kids DS-6 and DD-17 months (at time of trip)...It will be our second time..our DD was 10 months old when we brought her for the first time...we had a few moments that I kept thinking (what were we thinking?)but really enjoyed ourselves. We did have an extra set of adult hands with us (my sister) and this time we will not...so it will be interesting! Can't wait to hear more!

:welcome: haha I know that "what were we thinking?" feeling VERY well!! I hope this time it will go smoother now that your youngest is a bit older.

subbing...

:welcome:

I'm curious now. I have to subscribe and read this report.

 :welcome:

Aww don't feel guilty. I'm just glad y'all had a great trip! Hopefully you'll never experience what we did. I wouldn't wish a bad Disney trip on anyone. I usually have a very high immune system too. And Alex seems to have my immune system so far but I guess sometimes at certain times a year Disney is just a sespool of germs and it's hard to avoid getting sick. I've heard about a lot of ppl getting sick this February on their trips. It's just going around I suppose.

Thanks! It's only 6 hours so it's really easy for us (and cheaper) to drive. We've considered getting annual passes many times. I don't blame you for not wanting to drive from LA. That drive down the pan handle is the WORST. We did it once. Never ever again!

Aww thank you. And Happy Valentine's Day to you too! Today is my little doggies 5th birthday too :goodvibes

Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes We definitely won't let this one bad trip ruin it for the future for us. I just will never go with a child under the age of 2 again

Thanks :thumbsup2 he was putting on a show for us. It was quite funny. Looking back on it I wish I had taken video of it.

You know I haven't been here in forever, in fact, had to get a password reset to get on. But I came back for your Trip Report. :worship:

Holy wow, you have me scared to death, lol, since we are taking our 13 month old (who will be 16 months then....) in June--EEK! Subbing so I can see what not to do!

I can't wait to hear more. Sorry you had a bad trip. We took our DD at 9 months and have another tripped planned for May when she will be 21 months, which I think will be a very different experience as she is now walking and talking.

I'm so nervous to read the rest! I'm going with a 29 month old soon and we have hit the tantrum stage!
