I have seen a video online of the WDW fireworks, if they are half as good in person as they were online I can not wait to see them.

How often do they do fireworks and from how far can you see them?

They are gorgeous!!! Wishes and Illuminations are every night.

The best fireworks in Disney are Wishes at Magic Kingdom. They are fantastic! As far as I know, they happen every night. My second favorite is Illuminations at Epcot. They happen every night as well. Enjoy!

I see that you are headed down for your anniversary! Have a great time!!! We just got back last night and the crowds were great. I know you will have a wonderful trip. Oh, and Happy Anniversary!

Nothing like Disney fireworks. Wishes and Illuminations are stunning.

Welcome to the DIS, jondvl, and make those lifetime, firstime memories, you and your family.

I love fireworks, and I think WDW has the best out there..Illuminations at Epcot is my favorite, followed by Wishes.

My all time favorite are the ones at MNSSHP but those are only in September and October.

You'll hear it over and over....nobody does fireworks better than Disney! :goodvibes

The disney fireworks are amazing

There is nothing in this world like Wishes and Illuminations. And its not just the fireworks, the music is amazing and Iluminations has so many other special effects

I tend to finish a lot of my days at EPCOT,usually after watching the concerts during the F&W and F&G festivals and I probably have seen Illuminations well over 100 times and I can't say that I've gotten tired of seeing it,Wishes is great too.

While the fireworks are visible at some places outside the parks, definitely inside is the best place to view them (maybe the only exception being a Wishes cruise). For Wishes, anywhere along Main Street is a great view and for IllumiNations, anywhere around World Showcase (just be sure there are no trees that will block your view).

Once you see Disney fireworks, everything else will just seem...meh.

so nice that we park hop EPCOT to MK to make sure that we can see them both...every night when we are there

It really isn't a question of how far; these shows aren't really like your local Fourth of July presentation that you watch from a distance. They're designed to be best seen from inside their respective parks.

Wishes is an all fireworks show in MK, with music. I think the best spot is at the castle end of Main Street. Since it's all fireworks, it's possible to see from some locations outside the park, notably California Grill atop the CR (you need an ADR for this), Narcoossee's at GF, 'Ohana at Poly, and the Poly beach. But try to see them in the park. That's the way they're meant to be seen.

Illuminations at Epcot is a show with fireworks, light, water and fire effects and a giant globe that floats on the World Showcase lagoon. The video portions of the show are displayed on the globe. Only a few minutes of the show are fireworks, and the rest of it can't be seen at all from outside the park. Definitely worth seeing.

i hate to be a kill joy but i am being honest...... i love disney maybe not enough to drink the dis boards" kool aid " but the fireworks are great i have seen better but its the whole atmosphere of the magic kingdom that makes wishes great. if you were watching them somewhere else they would not be as good. as for the illuminations i think its time to change them up ? they are good but not great..... with the back drop of the world show case and the huge lake i think they can do more....... i dont need the fire part and they could really make it more dramatic than it is........

Wishes is amazing and not to be missed. I try to see it as many times as possible during a trip (allowing a couple of nights to see Illuminations, too!). You can't beat WDW fireworks! They are the BEST!

Wishes is the best. I agree with the OP who said that Illuminations needs to be re-vamped a tad. It's still a beautiful show, however, there's so much more that can be done with it based on its location. We always make sure we see Wishes as much as possible, but if we only see Illuminations once, that's OK. We can check it out back at our room at Pop Century, chomping tie-dyed cheesecake.

I love fireworks anywhere, but I've got to say that Wishes is fantastic. Even DS, who has a love/hate relationship with fireworks, loves them.

How nice are they?

In college I studied in Valencia, Spain, which has a five-day festival called "Fallas" every March. The city of Valencia goes every year to the biggest international fireworks competition and invites the top 5 participants to do the fireworks for each night of Fallas. Those were the most amazing fireworks I had ever seen--colors, shapes, combinations unlike anything I'd ever seen.

The following summer, I saw Wishes for the first time. Wishes is better.

Illuminations, I can take or leave.
