Hi,

Can anyone who has stayed at the Polynesian tell me how nice are the gardenview rooms.

Now that I am splitting my stay between CBR and the Polynesian, I would like to know what to expect.

Rooms are very spacious and well decorated. Think bamboo and palm treess. Nice sized bathrooms ours had a removable sprayer in the shower, great for kids. Decent sized balconies with table and two chairs. Did you request a particular building/view? We were in Samoa, third floor on the volcano pool side. Great view of the pool and partial view of the lagoon.

We were in Tokelau on the third floor. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. We had a garden view but ended up being able to catch a glimpse of the castle when out on the balcony. Our room also faced on of the "quiet" pools.

Don't know if this is helpful because "nice" is subjective. But I thought it was very nice and would stay there again.

Mymatisse,

That does help. The fact that you said you would stay again, must mean that Poly can't be all that bad.

rcraw45425,

I didn't even know that there were different sections. I am sure where ever I am put it will be great.

GV rooms at the Poly are very nice. If you want to be close to the GCH where you catch the monorail then a good building would be Raratonga. We love that building and always ask for third floor facing the monorail. Nothing like watching whiz by! Another fantastic building is Samoa especially facing the Volcano pool. Not only do you get a great view of that pool but also a nice view of the lagoon even though it isn't considered LV. Samoa 3rd floor facing the volcano pool is our first choice and then Raratonga is our second choice. Go to the Tikiman.com website and you will get all the info you need to make a decision as to what building to request.

It's kind of funny. 4 years ago I stayed at Hampton Inn-East Gate and this go around I am splitting my stay between CBR and Polynesian.

We stayed in Tokelau when we went...GV first floor...we really liked the spaciousness, the only drawback we had was our view...they were doing construction on the building in front of us so our view was a big brown construction fence saying do not enter....:) But the good news is that we rarely were there to even look for a view..I think all the construction is completed there now so it should be lovely for you! I actually preferred ground floor...mainly because it was easy in and out..no wait for elevator or carrying children up stairs! :)

MagicKingdom05, I agree about checking out Tikimans site. It is truly awesome! He also was the one that told me about Samoa and requesting 3rd floor volcano pool. If you check out www.allearsnet.com and go into the resorts section you will also find pictures, but Steve(Tikiman) has the best site. If you want a balcony, ask for third floor, the 2nd floor rooms don't have them. 1st floor has a patio. There are also buildings that are a hop, skip and a jump to the walkway to the Ticket & Transportaion center, you can walk over and catch a monorail to the MK or EPCOT if you don't want to go to the GCH (great ceremonial hall).

Thanks. It sounds like I have made a good choice by splitting my stay. I like the idea that I can get up in the morning, catch the monorail to Magic Kingdom or to TTC and catch a bus to another park.

I've stayed twice garden view in the Hawaii building at the Poly and it was great! Just be careful with some garden views, you could go out onto your balcony or patio and have a large tree or bush right in front of you.

Last Oct. had GV and it was great, we had a view of the monorail. My friend liked it so much, we're requesting the same building this Oct.

DisneyFans4,

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I would complain about any of the views I got. After the problems I had at Hampton Inn East Gate 4 years ago, even a room with a bad view would be a plus.

I am so happy that so many past visitors of the Polynesian like it so much.

The Poly is definitely very beautiful. The whole hawaiian theme is fantastic and you feel like your someplace else. The torches are lit every night along the walkways and hawaiian music is piped in so where ever you are walking you can hear the music.
The views from the beach are absolutely gorgeous!! Every night we watched the fireworks from MK from there and the electric light parade was wonderful.
You will truly enjoy your stay there.

DisneyFans4,

You can see the fireworks from the beach. I didn't know that. I like the idea of the whole Hawaii theme. That is a place I thought about going, until I realized that this was the year that I could go back to WDW.

Boy I wonder if I should only stay 3 nights at CBR and 6 nights at Polynesian Resort instead of 4 and 5, because Poly sounds great. It would be an extra $200, but then I could change my Chef Mickey breakfast reservation to a date where I was staying at the Poly.

Decisions Decisions.

Oh yes, and it's beautiful and you see everything so crystal clear because nothing is obscuring the view. There is also nothing like watching it from the beach. The music from the fireworks show is even piped in so you don't miss that either.
If it were me I would spend more time at Poly, but that's me.

DisneyFans4,

Decisions Decisions. Stay at CBR for 4 nights or move one of those nights over to Poly and stay there 6 nights. What shall I ever do  .

We love the Polynesian and have stayed in Tokelau on the 3rd floor, we overlooked the quiet pool. As mentioned above the rooms are very nice and spacious, and we could see the castle from the balcony too.

Everyone keep comming with these great reviews and advice about the Polynesian. I am liking my decision more and more.

Go for it! Think of all the time you'll save by being that close to the monorail!;) Seriously though, if you can afford it, by all means do it. The room size difference alone does it for us. Plus, they have QUEEN BEDS as opposed to FULL BEDS :teeth: :teeth:
